We all (me 44, DH 41, DD13, & DD 5) went to Disney for the Twirl Mania Championships held at the Wide World of Sports Complex. Here is where we ate:
Tuesday - Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Fare. We loved it. The character interaction was wonderful! Perla, Suzy and the Fairy Godmother visited the table at least 4 times each. Cinderella was lovely speaking to my daughter before dinner. (Prince Charming was just adequate). I hear the kid's pizza was excellent. I liked that they had little hot dogs and little hamburgers as well. The adult food was very good.
Wednesday - Boma is one of our favorites. The soups were exceptional!!! All of them. And when I mentioned I love the mulligatawny, our server had the chef whip us up some from scratch. Delicious. I don't even eat Prime Rib, but I had it at Boma and it was flavorful and tender. The barbecue ribs were also delicious. And the deserts ... great little chocoolate mousse thing, even better than the Zebra Dome.
Thursday - Whispering Canyon Cafe ... it was okay. We went with a group of 21 people and we had fun but the food was not as good as it was on previous visits. They need that smoker back IMHO!
Friday - All Star Cafe was surprisingly great! The chicken Caesar salad any my salad (with turkey, ham, etc.) were very good. Everyone at the table enjoyed all of what they ordered.
Kona Cafe - SUPERB!!! My first time. The breads brought to the table were delicious. My DD5's hamburger was very large and she ate almost all of it! My lava encrusted tuna was heavenly! I wish I had some now. I told the server we were in a hurry to get to the MK since my DD13 was marching in the parade. She kept our dinner coming quickly and efficiently. The desserts were to die for. The sundae for my DD5 was HUGE with cotton candy, 2 kinds of ice cream, hot fudge, M&M's, cookies, etc., etc. And I finally got to have the Koko Puffs. Thye were decadent! This was my favorite meal of the trip! It is such a casual place ... with such high quality food.
Sunday - Puck's Cafe. Delicious smoked salmon pizza and we always must have the Butternut Squash soup. A favorite of ours!
Beaches and Cream - The Kitchen Sink was a hit! All of the ice cream ordered was excellent.
Monday - California Grill was superb. I usually have the pork but this time I tried the filet and it was even better than the pork! My friend ordered the pork and had to send it back because it wasn't hot, but she said it was perfect when our server brought it back. Our sushi appetizer was phenomenal. And the hazelnut pyramid with hazlenut ice cream could not have been any better!
Our friend ordered the creme brulee 3 ways and raved about it!
Wow! I am making myself hungry. We really had some great food...just Whispering Canyon did not measure up... it wasn't bad, but certainly nothing to brag about.
