Our dining selections...opinions please!!

Thanks again to everyone...
We ave actually made some changes.
We decided against Yak and Yeti - simply because the menu just doesn't really appeal to our tastes...maybe next trip?
We did add the Ohana dinner. The pictures of the meat skewers I saw just blew our minds!
We also switched our Boma dinner to a Boma breakfast.
Gosh...there are too mamny choices.

As for San Angel - I heard it is closed indefinitely for refurbs...

You're not missing anything by cancelling Yak & Yeti. It's our least favorite restaurant on property. On a really positive note, Boma's breakfast is absolutely delicious! (DH loved their sausage & biscuit skillet so much that we found the recipe & I make it at home now.) Plus, if you walk to the savanna, you should be able to see the animals during the day. I'm happy that you were able to get an ADR for 'Ohana. I had such a great time last month that, while I was there, I walked to the Poly's concierge to make an ADR for my May trip. Will you be there around the time that the MK's Wishes fireworks are going on?

Not yet...have 2 more weeks before ADR date. Keep your fingers crossed!

I don't know about the Wishes time at Ohana, but we will be at Cali Grill one night for wishes!

Duh! How did I miss your ticker? Well, good luck with your ADRs! I'm sure you'll have no problem! 'Ohana pipes in the music for Wishes, so that could be really special too. We'll be at 'Ohana around the time of Wishes in May, so I'm really looking forward to that part. (I love the music to Wishes.) As for the cooking, DH likes so many things that we have on vacation that I often find myself looking up a recipe or two when we get back. It's kind of my fault too, b/c I love to cook. You could always try the old, "I couldn't find it online," trick, lol. Tonight, I'm making the leek & potato soup with potato dumplings from Biergarten in Epcot.

There was one recipe I actually did try to find, but couldn't....the bangers and mash from rose and crown. mmmmmm mmmmm.
I also found the cheddar cheese soup from le cellier but havent tried to make it yet. i'm not the most successful cook...
can you believe ive never seen wishes? maybe its something we could watch from ohana too...probably a different experience from cali grill...

I'm sad you decided against Yak and Yeti, it's one of my absolute favorites. :sad1: But it certainly doesn't look like you'll go hungry on your trip, and I hope you find some new favorites! I would have so much fun on a trip like that -- I just LOVE trying new restaurants!

Make sure to try Y&Y next time, though (and Boma dinner -- MMMMM!). ;)

Thanks so much for your help and comments. Are there any that we should consider adding or replacing?

I think your choices are great and you will have a blast! I would add (if possible) Kona at the Poly-especially for breakfast. Highly recommend!

The only ones I've been to that you listed are Boma, Coral Reef, and Whispering Canyon Cafe. All of them were AMAZING - some of our favorite meals of our last trip.

You have some really great choices! We loved breakfast at Boma and Tusker House...Tusker House was my favorite, though! I dream about the bread pudding with the vanilla sauce.

Loved Artist Point, California Grill, and Flying Fish. Service at all three was fabulous...we never felt rushed. Artist Point was my favorite appetizer-Smoky Portabello Soup. OMG.....I could have eaten a vat of it! California Grill has breathtaking views. I loved the Bananas and Caramel dessert, and my DH had the ostrich and declared it his favorite dish of vacation. Flying Fish had yummy drinks ;) Blood orange Margaritas. They were so smooth and refreshing. My scallops were delicious. Dessert wasn't bad either-I had the apple tart thing (cinnamon ice cream was the best part) and DH had creme brule.

Enjoy! And congrats in advance on your wedding!

Thanks for the tip...my fiance was torn on this one. May aunt just went to Ecuador and had ostridge...she said it was tough and terrible. I had a feeling Disney might prepare it a little differently...:)

I will throw one out there that is a MUST do for our family now. Table service at the Plaza in MK. Nice thick steak fries. Tomatoe Bisque soup that is amazing. Great selection of sandwiches and too die for milkshakes and deserts. The atmosphere is wonderful. They also do a daily meal special. We were there at Christmas and it was meatloaf that day. I really hate that the Plaza does not get more attention (frankly, I could not eat extremely heavy meals throughout each day of my trip ...so we do enjoy restaurants that offer less heavy fare on some days when we are there) BUT the lack of attention also makes it easy to get an ADR here. I would hate for it to become so popular that I would have trouble getting in.

I love Liberty Tree Tavern and Sci-Fi for lunch!!! Too bad you cancelled Yak & Yeti - it was easily one of the top 2 meals of our last trip - EVERYTHIING was fabulous! The Mexican CS is closed for refurb, not San Angel Inn, which is also fantastic for lunch (the other top 2 meal!). Just a warning on the ostrich at Cali Grill - my cousin, who is a very advaenturous eater, had it and ordered it cooked as they reccommend and it was practically raw - really gross!

My DH and I thought Narcoossee's was the best meal we had at Disney- another poster thought the food was only ok. We thought it was FAB, but our waiter was a bit disinterested- hard to flag him down.

If you are wine drinkers, Narcoossee's also has fabulous reds.

YUM! Those are both some of my WDW menu faves. I saw that there's a Le Cellier cheddar cheese soup recipe on YouTube & I'm definitely thinking about checking that one out. We also recently made a pb&j milkshake (from 50's Prime Time) & it was super yummy!

You've really never seen Wishes?!?!? It makes my eyes get a little tear-filled everytime I see it. I know all of the words & it just never gets old.
