Ok, so we just returned from a wonderful Disney vacation and Im am suffering the post-Disney blues. I figured writing up a report of the meals and the trip might help me relive some of the magic, so here goes the dining plan/meal report (Ill do a review of our first few days in a few days
):
DISCLAIMER: This report contains plenty of use of credits as credits so if you are one who wants to believe that there are adult credits and child credits this isnt the report for you
Use of credits: We were told at check-in that we had a total number of credits and they could be used however we wanted. We told the server at each meal how many credits we were using and who they were for and we never once had a problem. Each meal was calculated correctly and our receipt would show the total number of credits remaining.
Cast includes:
Me (33) Totally consumed by planning for the past year and overjoyed that we are finally at Disney! Somewhat picky eater but can also be adventurous!
DH (37) Excited to be on vacation and even more excited to shut me up about planning the Disney vacation! Will eat just about anything!
DS (5 ½) Just wants to ride Splash Mountain as many times as possible and is happy with a diet consisting of French fries, French fries and possibly a hamburger or chicken on the side to keep him fueled to continue riding Splash Mountain.
DS (almost 4) Another kid who just wants to ride as long as you fill up his gas tank with anything drowned it in ketchup or that resembles a popsicle.
Part-time cast member My DM (cant say or she would kill me
) Just happy to be at Disney with her grandsons and her favorite daughter and son-in-law (who were paying for everything
)
Day 1
Check in early at Poly and begin the dining plan (staying 4 days so we have a total of 16 table service, 16 counter service and 16 snack credits)
Breakfast Sunshine SeasonsMeet my mom at Epcot (Soarin) since she is staying at the Carribean Beach Resort. We have breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. Couple of bagels with cream cheese, strawberries with cream, bananas and juice/water. Standard quick breakfast fare.
Payed $20.04 out of pocket no credits used
Lunch No lunch because needed naps more and early dinner at LeCellier
Dinner LeCellier
Cost 3 TS credits used (value - $146) and $24.87 OOP (kids meals and additional tip)
Rating 5 out of 5 mouse ears
Did you know that British Columbia is the only Canadian province with both a rainforest and a desert? Well now you do! Learned this little fact at this meal but now what you are really reading this for, the report
This was our hands down favorite meal (food wise) of the whole trip! We had reservations for 4 but they were able to accommodate our party of 5 without any problem (I never could get that illusive ADR for 5
.) They were very busy and we did have to wait about 25 minutes to get a table (which wasnt to good since we didnt eat lunch!) Anyway here were our meal selections:
DH: Shrimp cocktail, 14oz New York Strip steak and Canadian Club Cake
Me: Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, 7oz Filet Mignon and Maple Crème Brulee
DM: Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, Free Range Chicken and Maple Crème Brulee
Kids: Chicken strips, French fries and vanilla ice cream
Everything was wonderful except for the cheese soup! I had been salivating over trying this stuff and I must say I was rather disappointed. It was ok but I have had much better. None of us thought that it was something that we would order again. Now the bread (especially that pretzel bread) was wonderful!!! As for the entrees, I tried all 3 dishes and my favorite was my filet. The meat was so delicious and tender and the sauce on it was excellent. The other 2 dishes were fantastic as well and definitely enjoyed by their respective diners! The kids devoured their chicken and French fries as well as their ice cream. As for the deserts, everything was spectacular (I thought that the cake was a little to rich but DH
it!) This will definitely be a stop on all future trips!
We forgot to take pictures earlier but here are the deserts:
Maple Creme Brulee
Canadian Club Cake
