Bummer about his teacher leaving. It is so hard to lose someone when they are really helping

I am not talking about the DME tags, but the souvineir tags.

Just slide the clear "band" through the hole (you'll have to push the hole out) on the tag and then back through itself.

Clear as mud? (Yes, I'm horrible with instructions.)

I can send you a picture if you need. :thumbsup2

please, I kinda get what you are saying, but then again, how do you then attach the other end to your luggage? :confused3

This is how I do it ... but I'm sure there are other (and probably easier) ways to do this. ;)

Push hole out and slide clear band through and then back through itself:

Do the same thing on the suitcase (DD actually has a band you can unbuckle and just slide through the opening - which is more secure IMO, but not all suitcases have bands or buckles you can slide through the clear band):

Here's a close-up (the one of the right is the 2011 without sliding through the buckle, the one on the left is last years with the buckle):

I do hope these make sense. If not, I can go make a video - it'll at least be hilarious, as I'm so not camera friendly. :lmao:

EDIT: Last year's bands were so much better, as they were more flexible. I'm not a fan of the new harder plastic bands. :(

Welcome Tiny Treasures. I am glad you joined us! Your TR has been a lot of fun especially with all those big gives. The generosity of people amazes me. I cant wait to read about your amazing trip.

Lidian thanks for sharing this. Those tags seemed awfully complicated, lol. Could be my lack of sleep for the past several days but I just couldnt figure them out. Stephen is bringing down the luggage tomorrow. He is finally home and off work for 3 whole days so hopefully I can get some stuff done. I keep intending to post pics of the kids new clothes but they will not cooperate. They are tired of me taking pictures of them and putting them here, lol.

ditto, and I am very thankful you got those photos! :worship:

You're more than welcome! :thumbsup2

I think Disney made them more complicated than they should have been on purpose. ;)

I really think its better if there's a buckle or something on the luggage to just run through the bands - it just seems more secure that way. The older ones, they seemed to hold better than the newer bands. :sad2: But at least it can be secured for those suitcases without buckles. :teeth:

And I agree, hangers work! I usually just lay them out on the bed and snap a pic. But then again, my kids don't know we're going, so they don't need to see the new Disney tops I've bought them ... and speaking of which, I really should go snap pictures of them. :rotfl2:

Can't wait to see! And HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter to you all as well. Busy day today for us. Church this morning and Luke barely made it through. He hates to sit in church and today, for some reason, it was all the harder for him- might have had something to do with the big basket of easter candy Kara bought him and gave him at 6:30 this morning. :scared1: He ate an entire solid chocolate bunny for breakfast because I was not home yet and Kara was in charge. My sister had a baby during the night last night so I was at the hospital all night too. The baby was taken early due to her preeclamsia (sp?) Anyway, today has been crazy running back and forth, keeping track of my 3 year old nephew and a whole lot of other stuff. In awhile, we will be hosting an easter egg hunt for all my neices and nephews (6 total) and our neighbor who has two toddlers. Should be interesting. Stephen is grilling for them all too. So while herding a very wild 3 year old, Luke who has had to much candy, and going back and forth to the hospital, I have been cooking as well. Busy busy day!

Congrats to your sister on her new baby! Sounds like you will sleep well tonight!! Enjoy the cookout and egg hunt!

Cookout did not go so well, Luke had to miss the egg hunt due to a meltdown that he just couldnt quite manage to pull together. Add in that Spencer told us he is accepting a new job, one that means he may not be with us for Disney (he is going to request the days but made it clear that if his new boss said no, he would not fight for it) so now I have to figure out what to do if this happens. I hope he will find out ASAP and Kara is way upset over this. Definitely did not help with Luke's problem. Anyone know how much I will lose if I cancel him from the ressie this late in the game? I already know I lose $75 on my airfare. This is definitely not good!

So sorry to hear about Luke.

I'm sorry to hear that Spencer may miss out on the trip too! I'm not sure what the fees/penalties are for dropping a person from a package is. When I was asking my TA about this - in case DH got a new job and we had to cancel completely, she said $200 is the max penalty if we change/cancel before we check-in. This may apply for your situation as well. Honestly, I'd call Disney and ask what their policy is. I think I would request to speak to Guest Services (and not a front-of-the-line CM), just to be sure your question gets answered correctly, and no changes get made immediately.

Perhaps someone with experience can pipe in and share what they went through.

My fingers and toes and everything else is crossed that his new boss will give him the OKAY to take the trip! I'm truly hoping he'll understand that you have this vacation already planned. :goodvibes:hug:

I am so sorry to hear about Luke and the meltdown causing him to miss the egg hunt.:grouphug::hug: We've been there before, it is not easy, I know.

I can't answer the money question; I hope Spencer conveys to his boss he REALLY wants to go! :goodvibes May today be MUCH better!!!! :flower3:

So sorry to hear about Luke and Kara.

Congrats to dh on getting a new job. In this economy that is a difficult feat sometimes. I hope this new job doesn't mess up your Disney plans.

I do not know how this will affect the trip with cancellations fees and such, but something similar happened to jensieb with her cruise and WDW stay. Her dh had to stay home to work and her mother ended up going instead. She would know first hand what you need to do.

Huge hugs about the meltdown. We had to leave early yesterday too. :headache:

Yah for the new job, fingers crossed he gets to go with. popcorn::

The job is a good thing, especially since he is planning on marrying my daughter. It pays well and will provide them with enough to live on, plus it will mean he wont have to join the military which was the plan if he could not find a good job. He has been working a barely above minimum wage job for the past several years while trying to find something that would provide him with the income he wants. I hope he does let his boss know how much he wants to go too but I am worried that because this is his first grown up job and its a very competitive job market, he will act like its no big because he fears not having the income. Right now, they both live at home, him with his parents and her with us but they do want to get married. In fact, they talk about it alot and she refuses to get married until he can support them. She will work too but she wants to know her future husband can support her. Financial stability is a big thing for Kara because of her past. I really hope he can go though.
As for Luke, the meltdowns are pretty normal when my extended family is involved. They are all very loud and they tend to not understand his issues so that adds to the problems. Yesterday, he kept going to his room with his DS and my mom kept sending kids in to play with him. I kept telling her he needed a break but she kept telling him not to be antisocial and to play with the other kids. In the end, I had to keep everyone outside and let him stay in his room with Stephen. I think it was worse because of all the chocolate he ate. He never gets sugar or processed foods and yesterday it was full of them.
