Travellers: Me, DH, DS (8), DD (15 months), and a friend of the family.

Tuesday (12/25)

Had to wake the kids up to open presents. Everyone loved their presents. DH had snuck out the night before and got me a Disney T-shirt and a caricature of my DD. Very cute.

Needless to say, we got a late start. Decided to splurge and have breakfast at the food court and my friend surprised us and treated. Left the food court and headed to the MK. I have NEVER seen so many people in my life. It was very crowded but we were in for the Long haul since I had 4:20 PS at LTT. Started off by FP Buzz Lightyear then went in to see Timekeeper. I love this show and my family did to. It was DH and my friends first time at Disney so they hadn't seen it before. After timekeeper, my DH was really cold and wanted to get the baby out of the cold. We took them to the Baby Center and they hung out there while we did the Jungle Cruise (kind of boring after the real safari at AK) and the Enchanted Tiki Bird show. We were going to do Aladdin but it was starting to rain. So we went and picked up DH and went back to Buzz for our FP. My DD LOVED this right. She was cracking up through the whole thing. After Buzz, we found a spot for the parade. We had very good spots by the Walt Statue and then this woman with her daughters came and stood right and front of us. By now it was raining and I didn't feel like arguing so Me DH and DD went back to the Baby Center to wait it out. After the parade, my friend and DS came in to and we just hung out there to warm up. By now it was about 3 so we went over and hung out in Frontierland/Adventureland to wait for our seating at LTT. We tried twice to see the Enchanted Tiki Bird show but the wheelchair section was full both times (I guess because it was warm and dry). We ending up checking in at LTT about 45 minutes early for our PS. The dinner at LTT was OK. The mashed potatos and carrots and salad were Excellent. The meat (turkey, ham and Flank steak) was just OK. After dinner we just left and went back to the hotel.

Wednesday was a rest day and DS really wanted to go swimming so even though it was only 58, I let him go in and just brought a change of clothes for him so he could change before we walked back to the room. The first time we went down, DD and DH went. My DH left to get something to eat and I happened to look down at my DD neck and she was covered in hives!!! Ran to the store to get Benadryl and gave her that and rushed back to the room to call the pediatrician. We thought it might be chicken pox. It wasn't, but they didn't go away until we got home. Still don't know what it was! Headed back down the the pool, DS was still there with my friend. Changed and headed back to the room until dinner. Had dinner at the food court, chicken tenders were very good! Went back to room and went to sleep!

Stay tuned for Part III

Hives are so unpredictable, I had an attack once and we never did find out what caused them. Glad your dd is alright now.

It's so aggravating when people stand in front of you after you've staked out your parade place, isn't it?

Thanks for posting this I enjoyed reading about your time at MK.

Christmas in WDW is a fantasy of mine - but DH thinks we need to stick to the established family holiday traditions. Oh well!

Thanks for sharing!

people that are already staked out for a parade.....that really irritates me.......My granddaughter had the hives super bad when wtook them to disney.......she was having an allergic reaction to the sun the doctor had said.....but we do think it was the different linen ....the soaps and all of the above.....she does have sensitive skin........thank goodness for the well stocked stores at all the resorts.......

Sorry to hear about the rude people. But still sounds like a good time at WDW.

Thanks for posting. :) We always seem to encounter rude people while waiting for parades. We've found it's particularly bad at the nighttime parades (maybe b/c they're usually once a week?). Sorry to hear about DD getting hives. :(
