We have been at BLT for the past week and are heading home on Monday. We love it and have had a great stay. We are in room 7434. It is a 1 BR lake view. The location is perfect. We are one floor below the Sky Bridge and then only 1 room in from the elevator. We are close to the pool, too, but I think all rooms are. From our balcony we have been able to watch the water parade, catch some of Epcot's foreworks, and even watch some of the outdoor movies.

Things I have noticed:
- too many people watch the fireworks from the Sky Bridge. It can be very crowded at that time.

- Our first few days the door to the bridge was always open so anyone could get through. Past few days door has been shut requiring your key to open it.

-Top of the World lounge was nice. I was happy to see how many people were up there last night.

-I see the gap in the bathroom door others have spoken about. It hasn't been a problem for us, but I see how it can be.

-Wear and tear is obvious already. The couch cushion has two big holes in it, it looks kind of gross. The rug has some small stains on it and looks worn already. It is still a beautiful room and resort though.

Hope you reported any problems regarding wear and tear to house keeping?

We let them know. We also had a light that wasn't working., Turned out it just needed a new bulb. The guy who came up said they are having a lot of problems with the upholstery in many of the units.

We returned from our BLT stay last Monday. Our studio (#7228) was also showing some wear. One thing I just remembered, in the shower the retractable clothesline didn't work. It was frustrating because I had to hand the wet clothes everywhere else. We were only there 3 days, so I didn't have time to contact mousekeeping when we were there.

Do you think it is worth contacting someone now?

So nice to hear that you are having a great time at BLT. We arrive Thursday for 3 nights at VWL and then 5 at BLT. Can't wait! So nice to hear that TOTW is being used! Can't wait to try it out!!

Just got back from picking something up from the gift shop and counted 82 people on the Sky Bridge watching Wishes. That is not counting the 30 people standing right outside of the exit to the Contemporary but before the door with key access only. It was mobbed.

:confused3 Has this always been the problem? Are these people all DVC guests?? Or jsut folks from anywhere. I guess I am asking, are doors at both ends of the sky bridge only accessible with a room key?

You can get to the skybridge from the BLT side without a key (you're already in BLT). You supposed to need a key from the CT side - but when there's a lot of traffic the doors stay open for anyone to walk through.

I did have to swipe my key a couple of times to get back to BLT.

This "Wear and tear is obvious already" issue will cost owners higher maintenance fees in the future.Through in "couch cushion has two big holes in it, it looks kind of gross. The rug has some small stains on it and looks worn already" and this is getting really disturbing. Why are people not held accountable for the state of the room at check-out? Is this a training issue with the Mousekeeping staff? I guess they have no "Skin in the game" so a few holes and stains may mean nothing to them. this needs to be documented and those responsible need to be charged. You would not get away with this at any other lodging - bad business. What is management doing to correct this?

I don't know why they don't check stuff like that after each person checks out. The holes in the couch cushion are big - easily noticable when cleaning the room. I don't know what the protocol is - does housekeeping have to report stuff like that?

no - it is up to you as owner or guest to report it - if you want something done about it.

if it bothers you be sure to report it to maintence while you are there - otherwise nothing will be done.

once you leave - it is something hard for maintence to find what you are talking about. what is obivous to us is less obvious to them.:confused3

Glad you had a great trip, we are looking forward to trying TOWL on our next stay there as well.
