This is the Trip Report of our big surprise!!!

We were so happy to surprise DD6 with her first trip to Disneyland!

We booked our packages through Allegiant Air and Secured a great price of $180 per person for Flight and hotel for 3 nights!

DH and I visited in January of 2010 for my birthday to scope out DL.

We hadn't planned on this trip being in February 2011, but got such a great price we went ahead!

Please enjoy my first ever trip report!

Who are we:

Myself:
Allyson- 29- I visited DL every year or so growing up as my grandparents lived in Santa Monica. We only did day trips though.
I love my horse, snowboarding, being outdoors, travel and my family! Oh and Disney of course!

The Love of my Life Dorian! we love to ride horses together, ski/snowboard, ballroom dance and just enjoy every minute together we can! DH is a paramedic so works long 12 hour shifts and I miss him a lot when we only cross paths for days at a time.

The other person in our family is DD6 who is actually my stepdaughter, however she lives with us (visits her mother sometimes on weekends)

Hope you enjoy my first attempt at this!!

So just after Christmas 2010 I started really watching Allegiant Air looking for deals- turns out on the 28th, a price for $180! We decide to jump on it for DD6's first trip to Disney!!!

I had a fantastic time researching the Dis boards planning our trip. Through planning, rope drop and a DD6 who was amazing, we did tonnes in our 3 days at Disney!

Here is how it all started:

DH and I both had to work the Wednesday- I work regular office hours and DH was working till 8ish. I was sneaky with DD6- we had a really early dinner (eating at 4:30) and then she had a quick bath and was put to bed..good thing she is so easy and was asleep by 5:30. DH got home around 8 (works in Emerg and as a paramedic so trips like this are such a great release for him) and we headed to bed for a few hours (I had already packed)

Got up at 11:30pm showered, loaded the car and were pulling out of our driveway by 12:01am! Only 1 minute behind schedule! lol!

Now the drive from where we live to the airport should take 3.5 is hours...our flight was at 6am....
well it is sure great I insisted we leave very very early as the main highway south was CLOSED DUE TO A MASSIVE SNOWSTORM!!!!!

We were then turned around and forced to backtrack 45 minutes to take a different smaller road...well talk about white knuckle driving!! Thankfully DH is a very experienced driver and did an amazing job handling the huge amounts of snow on the road- as it was the middle of the night the snowplows hadn't really been out yet...thankfully the car handled it very well yay for snow tires!!!

DD6 slept the whole drive other than waking up for a brief second and was back asleep instantly!

After a very stressful, very very very snowy drive we arrived!

we woke DD6 and of course she was quite confused not to be in her bed!

We told her we were going in to use the bathroom and then...

Loved the video......she was so tired but so excited all at the same time.....lol Can't wait to read more!!

PS: My hubby was a paramedic for 12 yrs....so I totally understand the long shifts & being home just waiting..........

I cannot believe you were able to get her to go to sleep so early!
She looks sooo tired.
what fun. I will be around for the ride!

Will try to do another leg tomorrow night :)

She was such a trooper! By the time we were on the plane she was WIDE awake and stayed WIDE awake till the park closed that night :cool1: running on sheer excitement :)

Oh yes, IME nothing keeps a kid up like the parks.

Once Maria got over the initial shock that we were going to Disneyland she was very excited to see what was in her suitcase- good thing her DM here remembered to pack her Indi costume from Halloween- she was soo excited to see it and asked if she could change immediately!

Daddy and I also changed into Disney!

She absolutely loved her first plane ride and kept saying how this was the BEST DAY EVER!!!! This was about 8am! She couldn't believe that her friends at school would be getting ready to head to the school and she was on her way to Disneyland! (Bad parents I know, we took her out of school for 2 days)

We had booked Zippy Shuttle and were pleased- the van was a bit older but was spotless and the driver was there waiting for us. Next trip I take I will pay attention to details and will be able to say how long it took, but suffice to say he was fast yet safe :woohoo:

Soon, we had ARRIVED!!! I will admit we weren't really on taking a lot of pictures to start off as we were too busy watching Maria soak it all in and soaking it all in ourselves, but I believe we were in the park around 11? Since we had just travelled with carry-ons we had decided to store them in lockers rather than going to our hotel- we were escorted through security to the lockers as roller bags aren't allowed, but our escort was lovely and friendly, yay CMs!!
Heading to the PARK!! :

Maria was just soaking it all in, and just kept saying how awesome it was and thanking us over and over  what a kid!

Now, we had been kinda indirectly prepping her for this trip- I know it is sooo overwhelming for us, so I can't imagine how DL is for a kid- we had been talking about "Someday when we go to Disneyland", watched the Disney Christmas Parade over and over and having family movie nights watching Disney movies
We asked Maria what she would like to do first and of course it was......INDY!!!!!!!

She was a little nervous in the line (walk through yay!) and we just kept reminding her that everything at Disney was created for her to fun :wizard: and that they wouldn't have anything unsafe! The Cast Members LOVED her costume- actually EVERYONE loved her costume! You see a lot of princesses but I haven't ever seen another Indy (especially a female one!)

She of course LOVED it!

Yup! LOL! We figured why waste time with going to the hotel! We had just brought carry-ons so a large locker was more than enough space!

This is such a cute TR--I love how you surprised your DD and can't believe she went to sleep at 5:30 pm! Can't wait to read/see more about Fantasyland.

Adorable Indy costume ... never seen one like it. Loved your video and am looking forward to reading more.
