She's back, she's back, she's back!!! I'm still in disbelief and denial that I never saw you last weekend. Through no fault of my own (read: 4 year old issues), we never made it to lunch at Concourse Steakhouse and therefore missed our big chance to catch the UM family

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear all about your trippie.

I was actually just in your neck of the woods-----saw friends in Sandy, then headed up to Park City for a little R & R. FABULOUS!!

After loading up the Suburban with way, way, WAY too much luggage and triple checking the windows and doors we were on our way…to Carl’s Jr. for our first counter service meal of our trip. You see, I had cleaned out the fridge so we had nothing to eat…
Next stop to cranky Father in law’s house so he can take us to the airport. Mind you, our flight wasn’t till 11:45 out of Salt Lake but it was only 9:00. We didn’t want to inconvenience an old man. Surprisingly, he was un-characteristically fine with taking us. Disney Magic starting before we even arrive? We parked just outside of the Delta terminal and disembarked the Suburban with the trained precision of a well-oiled machine.

Hugs goodbye to Grandpa, we trekked all six of us into the terminal. Each child had a backpack and at least one piece of luggage. We checked what needed to be checked (all just barely under the weight limit, FYI) and headed to security.

Now, the Salt Lake Airport now has a lovely air puffer machine one must stand in which detects any miniscule bomb-making residue on one’s person. It is a glass both you stand in and very strong bursts of air shoot you from all angles.

My kids eye this menacing booth with apprehension. The air cannons puffing air at you sound like the puffs that imitate mice tails on your legs on “Honey I Shrunk The Audience”(sorry to spoil, but it’s the most accurate description I could think of).

We removed all our shoes (CROCS do have metal grommets) and placed all our possessions in the gray tubs provided for our convenience to be x-ray’d.

DH is first so he can show the kids how FUN it is to be air puffed. He over-acts how fun it is and my kids are not buying it.

DS17’s turn…..bad move on my part. He dramatically acts like the air-puffer hurts and acts all freaked. We are causing a minor back up in security, because my next 3 kids are “hesitant”.

DS6 & DS8 each take a nervous turn and live to tell about it. Now it’s DD2’s turn and mine. Mercifully, they let us go in together. Norah, thought it was fun! Which is a foreshadowing of the Disney rides she will soon ride….

I have to proceed ahead to be “wanded” by a stout wand-nazi (who takes her job seriously)….GREAT, I certainly HOPE they don’t find where I hid my lip gloss…

I am always right at or just above the limit. The last two trips I had to take atleast one or two items out of a bag or two. So embarrassing.
