Our Anniversary Week at the Happiest Place on Earth!! TR DONE 8/30 SOUVENIR POST SOON

Hopefully the rain will stop soon! Today didn't look to promising but it didn't rain yet here! :woohoo:

Ok so it hasn't rained here today...yet. Actually it sprinkled a teeny bit about an hour ago but it was kinda sunny while it was sprinkling and it only lasted like 4 mins and then stopped. So lets keep our fingers crossed girl!

Kristen!! I don't mean to hijack but I wanted to show you our caricature! Chad was so mad!! :rotfl2:

IMG-2.jpg

He said they made his ears too big!!! I thought it was hilarious!! But, look at the size of my cheeks and eyebrows!! Geez louise!!!! I mean, I did go pluck crazy before we left!

Heather you can hijack all you want! That picture is hilarious! Your eyebrows are NOT that thin and your cheeks are definitely not chubby like that and Chad's neck is not 6 miles long :rotfl: It's cute though because they're supposed to be funny pics :thumbsup2

When I last left off we had just left Blizzard Beach and it was around 2pm. We didn't wait long for a bus there and made it back to ASMo by about 2:15, since the park is so close to the AllStars. We weren't in a rush and we were feeling a little hungry so when we got back to the resort we stopped at the food court and I got an ice cream cone and Chris got a bag of BBQ chips. I was dying for soft serve ice cream and of course I didn't specify that to the lady serving the ice cream so I ended up not getting soft serve and just regular. :headache: Oh well it was still tasty.

We took our snacks and filled our mug and headed outside to sit by the pool. The sun was really bright that day! Since it was the middle of the day though, the pool wasn't too crowded and there were a decent amount of chairs to chose from. We grabbed 2 and Chris decided he needed to go back to the room to use the bathroom. I stayed at the pool and soaked up the sun and read my book and ate my ice cream. Once that was finished I had a couple of his chips too LOL Eventually he made his way back and we both just laid out, reading our books for a while. Jumping in the pool was a good way to cool off and after a short time we just wanted to go back to the room to shower. Chris was really excited because we were heading to DisneyQuest that night! (p.s. I'm mad at myself for not snapping some pool area pictures at this point. idk what i was thinking!)

We got back to the room and it was about 3:15. Chris and I decided now was a good a time as ever to book the bounceback offer that was in the room! We picked the dates November 16-21 because that was the latest dates in November that were included in the offer. Chris's birthday is the 22nd and we wanted to be there for it but no luck at this point. We booked those nights at Coronado Springs because if you remember, he decided he liked it there when we picked people up there on our IoA day, strictly based on the look of the front of the resort   Anyway, we were booked to come back and I was happy!!

By this time we started to shower and get ready to head to DQ. We left the room at 4:30. We then got to the bus stop and waited...and waited some more...and waited more. People were really starting to get annoyed. There was a family we had seen a couple of times already this week who had a woman in a wheelchair. They had waited soooo long to get buses all week and we knew it was true because we saw them waiting more than once. The father was getting really frustrated. A bus finally pulls up and there's no room for the wheelchair! I'm surprised the guy didn't jump out of his skin at this point. I can't really blame him though, they said they were going to be late for dinner reservations and had already been at the stop for 15 mins before we got there. We waited a half an hr so they waited that, plus 15 mins, plus however long they waited for another bus because we got on the one they wouldn't fit on. Poor people.

After waiting a half hr we get on a bus and there is MAJOR traffic on the roads. They're doing roadwork!! OMG so the bus driver decides to take a detour. After a half hour we finally make it to DTD, the marketplace side. We need to go to the West Side drop off though so we stay on the bus with one other family who was going to Cirque de Soliel or however its spelled. After another 5 mins we finally get off the bus. This is why I want to rent a car when we go back in November!! By this point we're now starving for dinner so we decide to go to Wolfgang Puck Express on the West Side. We place our order inside and it was about 5:40 at this point. Let me just say there was NOTHING express about this place! Holy moley we waited 25 mins just to get our food! All we ordered were flatbreads! I was getting so angry and we even watched some other people who sat down AFTER us get their food before us. Just as I was about to get up to say something our food finally comes. I got a margerhita pizza type flatbread and Chris got one with sausage and peppers.

It was really cute because at this point Chris realized I needed pictures of all the food before we ate. Well I almost forgot here and he took a bite of his pizza and then was like "Oh babe you forgot to take a picture!" He then proceeded to mend his flatbread back together to make it look like her hadn't eaten any of it yet, even moving around the sausage and stuff to cover up the hole. It was really cute

We ate and then finally it was time to head into DQ! I've come to see that a lot of people never have been into DQ so here's a map of the layout of the place.

DQmap.jpg

You first walk in and immediately go into an elevator. Of course, this is Disney we're talking about so it's not just any elevator. In there you watch a video of the Genie (or old Genie boy as some little ones call him ;)) on your way up. It's really cute. You get let off the elevator at the 3rd floor. When you get let off there you walk right into this
077-1.jpg

Its a big human pinball game! Chris and I were a little taken aback by it at first so we just walked around a little. The place is FILLED with arcade games. We walked around some more and then headed up to the 4th floor. I believe this is where we decided to try our first game. It was a virtual reality sword fight LOL You sit on this chair kind of thing and they strap your head into a plastic holder thing which then gets big, heavy virtual reality goggles attached to it. This thing is heavy! Then on the side of your chair is a "sword." The game starts and shows you what you have to do. Then it begins and you just swing your "sword" and kill all the bad guys in your virtual reality goggle things. It's fun at first but after a while I start getting really hot and really nauseous and the goggle things are just SO heavy! I start holding the goggles up with the arm I'm not holding the sword in. I thought it was never going to end! Finally its over and I feel soooo sick. OMG i thought I may throw up right there! WARNING: IF YOU ARE PRONE TO EVER FEELING ANY TYPE OF MOTION SICKNESS, EVEN IF ITS JUST IN A CAR OR SLIGHT, DON'T PLAY THIS GAME!!!

Now I really feel like crap and I know I can't go play any games like that for a while until I feel better. We head around the corner though and there's another virtual reality kind of game there that Chris wants to play so I waited outside while he went in and played with some little kid LOL We walked some more and headed up to the 5th floor. There were regular arcade games there too.

continued from previous post....

By this point I'm really not feeling much better. We walk back to the 3rd floor and get on line to try Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters. It's not a virtual reality game so I'm thinking I should be ok. This game is set up like bumper cars, except each car is "caged in" with plastic walls. There's one driver and one shooter in each car and you need to drive over these big plastic balls which then come up into your car and shoot them at the other players cars. Sounds simple enough. If you get hit in certain targets on the car, your car spins out of control for like 5 seconds. We get in after hearing the directions on how to play and we decide I should be the driver and Chris should be the shooter. Let me tell you, I hadn't laughed so hard all week! And we laugh alot! I was dying, nearly pee your pants laughing! I was TERRIBLE at this. Chris is yelling at me but can't even yell serious because he's laughing so hard too because I'm so bad. I think I drove over like 3 balls the whole time and it was so hard because we kept getting hit and spinning out! :rotfl: OMG it was really funny and fun. I was actually starting to feel better now.

Now we both had been dying to try the cyber space mountain thing. You go and create your own rollercoaster on a computer thing and then they put you in a capsule like this
CSM.jpg

strap you all in and you experience the rollercoaster you just built. Well of course we build the most daring, flipping, upside down, fast rollercoaster possible. Idiots! We go into the capsule and it starts off fine then all of a sudden I'm about to puke again! Once its over they then keep you in the capsule and make you watch your video of your faces as you rode. I'ts soooo obvious when I started feeling sick my face goes from all excited and happy to OMG i'm about to puke :rotfl:

By now I know I need to just stop so we walk back up to the 3rd floor and i sit down on a bench in front of the pinball thing. I told him to go play I needed to sit down and relax. I felt so sick and dizzy! I probably sat there for a good 45 mins before Chris came back to check on me. I had been sitting there watching people play the pinball game for a while and I told him to go play it because it really looked like a lot of fun. I wished I could try it too but I didn't want to chance shaking up my stomach.

He was only playing against like 5 other people but he won! That's my boy!

So we headed down to the first floor now where there were some more games. We both got online for the virtual jungle cruise. You sit in a raft with real paddles and watch a screen and you have to paddle your way through a jungle river. I figured since this was out in the open and not all closed in I would be ok. It was pretty fun but it did upset my stomach a little bit because the raft moves all around like you're really on the river. I decided I Couldn't do anymore virtual reality rides. Right next to the virtual jungle cruise was a virtual pirates of the caribbean ride. Chris wanted to go on it so I waited for him. This line was kind of long and it stunk waiting by myself. Finally I see him go in with some family of 4 LOL

He comes out and says his group won. He was happy! But he knew I still was feeling like crap so he said we should just leave. I felt bad because I know he would have liked to stay but I still was feeling queasy! So we decided to leave. It was probably around 9:30 now so we spent a good 3 hrs in there. We definitely could have spent more if I had felt better.

Up next:: the hilarious bus ride back to the resort and day 5 at DHS!! :goodvibes

Sounds like a very nice relaxing afternoon by the pool! :thumbsup2

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed DisneyQuest. I stayed away from most of the virtual reality stuff, but managed to ride the Pirates ride and the Jungle Cruise without getting sick. I know I could not have pulled off the sword-fight thing! Sorry it got you!

I totally stunk at the Buzz Lightyear ride too..that was hard! But my youngest and I laughed a lot so it was good!:rotfl:

So awesome that you booked your bounceback...I have no idea when we'll be able to go back. :sad2:

I tried 2 virtual reality games at DQ and they made me feel sick too!

I so get you!

I know exactly what you mean. We went to DQ many years ago and did the Aladdin's magic carpets and I was done. I actually had to quit in the middle of the game.

It was a nice afternoon :o) I really did enjoy DQ too, and would have so much more if I had felt well. We'll definitely be back and I'll know what rides to stay away from. How was the Pirates ride? Do you think I'd be okay?

The Buzz ride was definitely hard!! LOL We were laughing so hard too. I'm thrilleddddd that we've booked bounceback but our plans have changed a lot since we booked it LOL

I tried 2 virtual reality games at DQ and they made me feel sick too!

I so get you!

Ahh I wish I would have known before I jumped right into them! I would have had a much better time there LOL

I know exactly what you mean. We went to DQ many years ago and did the Aladdin's magic carpets and I was done. I actually had to quit in the middle of the game.

Oh mannn thats a bummer! I'm going to stay away from the closed in ones next time we go and stick to others that I most likely won't get sick on LOL

wow....those flatbreads look REALLY good!! Did the margaherita one have onions on it?? I hate onions but the margaherita one looks like one i would like!

Disney Quest looks fun!!! Was it busy?? I have this terrible feeling it is going to be crazy busy or something.... I think crowds will feel worse because you are crammed indoors w. ppl instead of outside... Everyone is making me a lil nervous about the virtual reality thingsss :3dglasses

this sounds just like ray on our first trip! at first he was totally mortified that i was taking pictures of food but after a couple days he was angling the plates where i could get a better shot. it was cute! :goodvibes

sorry you felt sick. feeling icky at disney is the worst! i hope it gets better soon.

Okay, after reading your update about Disney Quest, I am in sensory and auditory overload. I don't think I can ever go in there! I can never let Connor know about it either because it is the kind of place he would love to go.

So DisneyQuest was hit and miss with you then. I'm due for a trip back. It's been two years come this Summer. We love DQ. I think my favorite ride is the POTC one. I always wanted to do the Buzz ride....it looks like fun but the kids weren't tall enough then and I didn't want to ride it with a stranger. Sidney did once. He said it was really cool. The WGPE food looks yummy. I love me a good flat bread!

Aww, I'm so sorry the some of the games made you dizzy. That is not cool. If you go back to DisneyQuest next time you will have to do the pirates game. That was my favorite when I went with my fam!

I'm glad Chris is getting more and more into everything as time goes on!

Aww, that is funny about Chris fixing his flatbread for your pictures.

Bummer you didn't feel too great after some of the virtual reality things. I don't know if I could handle them either...we were at Six Flags a while ago and they had this Imax-type movie that was all about aliens taking over an amusement park or something strange like that and a lot of it was like you were riding a roller coaster. It started off fine but then my entire family started feeling sick. We ended up leaving before it was over, it was that bad!

We haven't been to DQ in along time. But when we went we did pirates and jungle cruise they were both fun. We want to go back but we have two DS'S. One is 9 and the other is 3 so again someone would have to stay off with DS3. We really want to ride the Buzzlight year bumper cars Do you know if it goes by age or height? I can't remember. Sorry you didn't feel well:flower3:.

Oh no - I hate when I get soft serve when I wanted "hard serve" and vice versa! I'm jealous of your bounceback offer! I always see that stupid coupon on the table in my resort but never book it, so I can imagine how exciting it would be to actually take advantage of it!! That stinks that you had to wait all day for busses and for your food :( And then when you finally got there you got motion sickness!! How sad! I have the most sensitive stomach and head to motion sickness. I get dizzy very easily which immediately turns to nausea, so I feel you pain. I'm glad your BF was still able to enjoy some of the stuff in there, though!

It was nice to have old Genie boy greeting you!

They put you in a capsule! :scared1:
They keep you in a capsule! :scared1::scared1:

I would like to try the jungle cruise someday, if I ever get to DisneyQuest before they do away with it.

Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well and couldn't enjoy it like I know you wanted to.

I know it did feel good to have another trip booked, too!

OMG! I'm sorry about your insanely long wait for the bus and feeling so sick at DQ!! I hope day 5 was better!!

It was a nice afternoon :o) I really did enjoy DQ too, and would have so much more if I had felt well. We'll definitely be back and I'll know what rides to stay away from. How was the Pirates ride? Do you think I'd be okay?

The Pirates ride was the VERY first thing I did there. I was fine and it didn't bother me a bit. I think if I had done one of the other things first, like the Aladdin ride or that sword thing, I may have had a different experience. Once you feel that nausea almost anything gets to ya!

I have to be really careful about what I ride, because I, just like you, get sick and then I'm not right for the next couple of hours. NO FUN! :sad2:

I'd say do Pirates first. But you know better than I do what you can handle! :goodvibes
