There are ALOT of them. I put these up so a member of my family could see them, and I thought I would reciprocate for the all folks who have shared pics here.

Enjoy!
AKL Photos from 2003

Great photos! We also stayed at AKl and I always wondered what the pool looked like with people actually in it (we go in January).
your daughter is adorable. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Great photos! Thank you so much for sharing them!

The pics from the second trip were in December (the ones with no one in the pool) and it was FREEZING! I should have posted the ones with my mom and DD in winter coats looking pretty miserable in front of the pool, lol! There was steam rising from it.

your daughter is adorable
Thanks, we're kind of partial to her :D

I'll try to get as many pics from POFQ when we go in a few weeks.

Great pics! Next trip I think that I would like to try the AKL. In April we will be staying at the BC.

I love your pics of your daughter and cat. Is it a lynx point siamese? I have one also. He always has to be on your lap or laying over your shoulder.

Thanks for the pictures! I'm even more excited for our Aug. trip!:hyper:

Is it a lynx point siamese?

You know, I don't know -- she could be part that. She was a wild cat born at DH's shop that we domesticated. :D

Michelle, your pictures are so AWESOME!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
These brought back so many memories of my 2 stays there. I really love this resort. I'd love to stay in the deluxe room and bring my parents along. Your little princess is adorable. I love her hair, esp. in the long braids, she's sooo cute.:sunny:

my DH was one of those freaks swimming in the pool in january...he was all alone in the pool with steam rising up around him...I shoudl have taken a picture!

Don't you LOVE the AKL sign? I have the one we took as my PC background!

thanks for sharing...I miss it so much now!

Thanks for the great pics! I am hoping to stay there in the next couple of years - I really love that you can see the animals from the rooms. It looks like you had a blast! :)

OMG -- I was probably laughing at him! lol :D

It was FREEZING and there were a handful of people in there. They were not real active, though!

I just returned last night from a 7 night stay at AKL. My kids loved the animals, although our room was a lonnnnnnnnnng walk!
(5595) but the extra large balcony with the animals made up for it. I do tho have a couple of concerns about cleanliness....and no I never complained because I did love the resort. One thing I must mention is that these problems arose from previous guests. My oldest son mentioned frequently that he smelled urine by the door of the balcony, which I kept telling him was ridiculous, but alas he was right, as when I was checking and rechecking when packing to leave, there was an intense odor in the corner.......YUCK. Also, my daughter got a serious case of swimmers ear after two days in the pool, which I blamed only on the swimming under water. I took her to the er, and they said it was from bacteria in the water, which is understandable, but walking down one of the hallways, I overheard a mother asking her 2 children if they were ok, and they both were complaining of the same problem, so I directed them to the er. Unfortunately for my daughter, the infection became so bad she was unable to leave the room for 2 days/nights, but I am grateful that now that we are home she is feeling better.
Overall I loved the resort, the information available from the staff is wonderful, and tipping the mousekeepers made for one night of towel animals.....my young son did cry though, because he left the mousekeepers a note with a $5 bill asking them to make him a towel lizard, lol (he is 7 and a huge lizard lover)........well they threw away his note and we never got any more towel animals! I told him they were just too busy and to go outside and look for lizards!! The resort is beautiful and even though the problems I mentioned are serious in my view, I am glad that I did get to experience the lodge.

don't worry - I was laughing too...as I ran away with his towel, pants and sweatshirt! heheheh

It was late at night too...probably around 11...and he just HAD to swim at least once before we left...this was at the end of January this year...too funny!

Great pics! Already have them bookmarked for future reference!

Now...I need to get on my Wayama Safari pics this weekend!

Imallset...so sorry to hear about your AKL mishaps with the little ones!

Those are awesome, Stinkerbell!

Isn't it an experience to come that close to a giraffe? You don't realize how graceful yet muscular they are until you touch one.

Thanks for sharing!
