We will be at the AK in early October and I'm trying to decide if we want to go back in the evening since the night show and carnivale are no longer scheduled. We would only go back for dinner at Yak & Yeti and to ride Everest and the safari. However, we are doing both of those rides earlier in the day and I'm really the only one that rides Everest. If we don't return, we would move our evening at Disney Springs to this night. That would free up a night later in the week for an early bedtime since MK opens at 7:00 the next day. Opinions?

I would do the nighttime stuff, but I love ak. The tree of life will still be doing the protection show, right? That's a very nice show. Honestly, ak always empties out a lot so you could even save all the dinoland rides till then.

The safari is a very different experience at night, I really enjoy it but others think it is stupid.

You'll just have to weigh how much (if at all) experiencing ak at night is worth it to you. Keep in mind the rides will most likey have no wait, except maybe the safari.

We have planned our one day at AK as our late day. We are hoping Rivers of Light will be up by then. I think it would depend on the ages and sleep needs of all involved. My older kids could shut down the park and then be ready to go in the am. My younger kids would be melting down at the thought.

Have you considered the night time activities at the Animal Kingdom Lodge after AK? Boma is awesome for dinner and we loved the night vision googles to view the animals. Lots of fun.

I know my wife would vote for an early night sleep to hit the parks super early.

We did AK at night this past Tuesday and it was awesome. Everything was walk on from 6pm on. The FoLK was maybe half full at 6pm. We did Safari around 7pm before it got dark. Saw lots of animals including active lions both male and female. Rode Everest 3 times with only wait being from the exit walk, back through the que. Dinoland rides had no wait and Tree of Life looked cool as we walked out at 8pm. We got pixie dusted with free Halloween Party Tickets so we left at 8 to see some stuff and rides for that from what we missed due to Sundays weather. There was a good amount of ppl watching the Tree of Life stuff but we would have had plenty of space to watch if we had stayed. The park looked really cool at night from the Everest view, and loved the nighttime performances. They had lots of energy. Mickey and Minnie Greet looked to be about a 10 min wait at 7p as we walked by.
