Our 2nd Trip to Disney! Did it Measure Up? (w/pics) **THE END**

Big hugs for your son. That clean out is so hard for my adult patients I cant imagine a little guy going through that. Hopefully you will have answers at least. Answers at least can guide the way to the treatment. Many hugs to your family this weekend. :grouphug:

Thanks :) I PM'd you.

Awww, I hope everything turns out OK for your son. Poor little guy. We'll be saying a prayer tonight.

Thanks :)

We're home now and DS is all cleaned out. And while it was a traumatic experience for all of us, he seems perfectly normal now.

I feel like I could use a vacation on a warm beach right about now (it is so windy and cold out today!). I'm beginning (all right, I'm well past beginning stages) to stress with Christmas coming up, then another appointment for DS, my next class starting up and then our trip to Disney.

Serenity now! ;)

I just remembered something that I want to do on this trip. I want to get a Henna Tattoo! I've been contemplating getting a real tattoo for a while now and I figure a Henna tat is a good way to try one out. Plus, I just think they're really neat. It sounds like Morocco is the only place to get one at Disney World. I think I'll try to fit this in when dh and I go to Le Cellier for dinner.

I also forgot to mention that my parents' flight will arrive in Orlando after 5 p.m. We'll plan to head straight to Disney Studios immediately upon arriving in Orlando. We'll head to the townhouse to check in around 4 and I'll leave dh with a boy or two and then head to the airport. That should work out well.

Any ideas on what to do at DS when we get there? It'll probably be crowded by that time (I'm figuring around lunchtime). This is just an extra trip so there's nothing we *have* to do. I'd love some suggestions on how to handle this visit.

After Christmas I will begin packing our bags. The problem with this trip is that we'll be keeping all of the seats in the van. Last time we took out one of the far back seats to make room for bags. Otherwise there isn't much space back there! But, since we'll be staying offsite and needing to transport my parents, we need to keep that back seat in there. We can fold that extra seat down and put things on it, but DS7 will be next to it and I don't want a lot there for safety reasons. I think we may need to go with smaller bags. We normally use our rolling duffel bags, but I think they might take up too much space. I'll have to discuss it with dh and see what he thinks. It's really amazing how little space there is in a minivan!

Only 5 days until Christmas!!

We have a huge dodge SUV, and It as you stated about vans;there is still no room. By time you get to DS I would grab a FP for one of the bigger attractions you would like to do,and then go do muppets or movie ride while you are waiting. Get pictures with characters is a great thing to, so you get it out of the way. Merry Christmas!

Here's some things I still need to figure out and would love help with.

What are we going to wear to the Pirate and Princess Party?

I don't want to do full costumes, but I'd like to get in the mood a bit. DS7 has Pirate Mickey ears so I'm sure he'll wear those. A while back I bought a Jack Sparrow costume at Target that was on clearance. DS5 can wear the handkerchief with the braids (this cracks me up!). It's kind of a crap shoot as to whether or not DS3 will wear anything. He refused to wear a costume at Halloween  .

I'm thinking some Disney Princess t-shirt for myself and my stepmother. Any ideas for my dad and DH? Perhaps just Pirate shirts?

We'd really like to go play mini-golf this time. I've read that Winterland is the best one. Is this at Blizzard Beach? I just want to make sure I know exactly how to get there.

What are your favorite "off the beaten path" things to see in any of the parks? These are things one might not see unless they were wandering around or knew where to look. I want to do more than just attractions this time around. I'd love to hear your favorites!

Anyone know of any Letterboxes in the area? We're a letterboxing family and I've tried to find some around Disney World. I have found information for one in Celebration, which is cool because I've wanted to check out that place anyway. But, I'd love to hear about more :)

Ok - so I had to check out your pre-trippie after you posted on mine. Looks like you have a lot of the same Must-Do's as we have! I'm really hoping ds6 doesn't find Star Tours too scary, since he is in such a big Star Wars obsession at the moment.

(And, I'm enjoying reading along! Mine seems so boring compared to a lot of the others I'm reading!)

:welcome: Irene :) Thanks for stopping by. The problem with making one's writing entertaining is that if you don't keep it up, people will start booing! :rotfl: Your trip report is just fine :goodvibes

This morning, as I was doing my PTR rounds, I came across Blueyed Girl's latest entries. Until that, I was happily living in my stressed out world and content to let the days until our Disney trip pass by uneventfully. But, then I spotted her latest crafty work! Stop the presses!! She made a lovely countdown calendar for her son. A little birdy began to whisper in my ear.

Little Birdy: Are you going to let your poor children pass the days until their 2nd trip to Disney with no fanfare?

Me: Huh?

Little Birdy: No hooplah?

Me: Is it Christmas already?

Little Birdy: Come, my dear. Let's have a sit down and chat a bit.

Me: Ahhh...ok. But, I only have a minute. I haven't showered yet, I have to make cookies for DS5's holiday party tomorrow, there's housework to be done, errands to run...

Little Birdy: You poor, poor dear.

Me: *sniff* Yeah. And I'm sick too

Little Birdy: This shall only take a minute. Listen. I know how busy you are. But, I also know how much you love your children. Tell me this: Do you plan on going back to Disney anytime soon after this upcoming trip?

Me: Probably not.

Little Birdy: Then shouldn't we be making this trip EXTRA special for those darlings of yours?

Me: Well...

Little Birdy: Don't they deserve to have a mom that goes to great lengths to make every aspect of what could be their LAST trip to Disney SUPER spectacular?

Me: That's a bit dramatic, isn't it?

Little Birdy: Is it?

Me: I mean, it's their 2nd trip to the World in less than a year. They're going right after Christmas, during which they will be spoiled. They're going to be getting light sabers, legos, pins, Mr. Potato Head pieces. Don't you think that's enough?

Little Birdy: Is it really?

Me: I'm just too exhausted. I give, give, give every day. And, in return, my oldest tells me I'm the meanest mom. I'm not feeling very giving today.

Little Birdy: Is that really the attitude to have at Christmas time?

Me: Well...I suppose not.

Little Birdy: That's the spirit! Now, look at that great countdown calendar that Blueyed Girl made so lovingly. It's just precious! Wouldn't it be worth the effort to see your boys' faces every day that they countdown to this magical trip?

Me: I guess it probably would.

Little Birdy: How much time could it take anyway? Surely you could spare a few minutes out of your internet loafing -- I mean HARD WORKING -- day to make this SIMPLE calendar for your angels.

Me: Allright. You've talked me into it. You're going to help, right?

Little Birdy: What was that? Sorry...I heard my mate calling. Must be off!

Me: Maybe I should walk around with cotton in my ears.

Here is my finished calendar:

I used what I had around the house and since I could only fit 25 post-it notes, guess how long our calendar will count down? ;)

A close up:

Underneath each post-it is something Disney related. There are some trivia type questions, some questions asking to name their favorite characters, etc. or a reminder about packing. I think we'll all really enjoy this leading up to the big day.

:rotfl2: Sorry about posting so fast. I leave my laptop on and anytime I pass by it and see an email, I check it if I have a couple minutes. Today is :laundy: day. YUCK!! So anything to distract me from that is very welcome.;) BEAUTIFUL picture by the way. It made me run and go put on a sweater!

I don't really have suggestions on WHAT to make for meals but as far as Garden Grocer I believe they want you to make your order at least 2 weeks in advance. I think we made ours 3 and I even contacted them back right before we left to add more stuff. They were great! They didn't forget a single thing.:)

Ack! I'm out of time!!!

I started putting together a list, and Garden Grocer only had about half of the stuff I wanted, anyhow. Grr. Now I'm not sure what I want to do, since we won't have a car. I know I can get milk at the food court, and some stuff I can pack in, and I saw somewhere that they had I think Office Max ship bottled water. Then I'm down to perishables, like fruit and cheese sticks, and maybe cream cheese for bagels.

Oh no! I should probably do a quick run through to make sure they have the things we'll need. It's not a huge deal though as we'll have our van and I can run to the grocery store. I hope you figure something out! On our last trip, we just brought along some boxes of cereal, cereal bars, and granola bars and then bought milk as we needed it. That was good enough to get us through until lunch.

Oh, yeah - coffee. That was another biggie - I refuse to drink Nescafe. And Gatorade would be good. I'm not seeing bottled water at either Office Max or Amazon. Hmm...

Nescafe isn't coffee anyway. I'll be bringing coffee along and brewing it at our townhouse. Luckily our rooms at SOG last time had coffee pots so we were able to make decent coffee every morning. Coffee is really something Disney needs to work on.

Fortunately, I remembered about wegoshop.com. I just set up a list, and emailed a bunch of questions to figure out how to deal with the actual delivery, esp. since I want perishables and/or a bottle of wine.

My first Aussie reader! :welcome: Gabrielle :) (love the name, btw) There's a problem, though. With you becoming a reader, I'm not sure this PTR will ever talk about anything except Australia now! I have someone to discuss my favorite topic with! :cheer2:

Good luck with the shopping and dinner. You're ambitious! Can I join in? :flower3:

Love your countdown calendar. I want to make one too, but think I'll wait until after Christmas. We're down to 29 days now! I'm so excited to be in the 20's:banana:
Jenny (Liz' friend in case you forgot)

:cool1: What day are you all leaving? I think I have our count at 30 days until we start the drive down. Maybe you all are flying down on Friday?
