I hear ya on the Primeval Whirl! Once was enough for me on that baby.

Dh is also an Eagles fan, but lucky for us, he's not diehard into football. So the game the other night wasn't a big deal. He said he was rooting for both teams

How did I know that you would have info for us on that? ;) Actually, I saw other people's answers to that question on the board I stole it from and most people said Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas. But, I don't really dig that movie and I couldn't think of any others like it.

Peter Pan, eh? Hmmmm....

lol Well I thought I knew what it was, but I did look it up on Wikipedia to be sure.

Yep, Peter Pan, LOVE it. I sure could use a trip to Neverland right now!! (see the email I just sent you......... )

Subscribing! Great PTR! I have been laughing out loud while reading all of this. I too have started a PTR and started posting and posting and I'm hoping I don't run out of things to post about. :rotfl: I'm also a stay at home mom to DS(3), and have been interested in taking classes at UOP. I was sort of waiting until next summer when we ease DS into a pre-k class. Once I pick myself up off the floor after sending my baby off, then perhaps I can start school again as well. :rotfl2: Anyhoo, if you get bored or need more procrastination material come check my TR out too. Although, I will tell you mine is probably not as funny as yours.;)

Hi Jayne :welcome:

"Bubbas" :rotfl: Too cute!

Thanks for stopping by :)

thank you, carissa

i have truly enjoyed your thread

working on one of my own right now

started working on it with the word processor, though

if i don't do that, i'll hit a glitch, lose it all, and get :headache:

Awww...thanks for the kind words Blueyed Girl :welcome:

UOP is so convenient and I really like how the whole thing is set up. Good luck with that!

I will definitely check out your TR ;)

Before I start this entry, I just wanted to share with you what we woke up to this morning:

IMG_1136.jpg

Isn't it pretty?

Now, back to business!

Show of hands...

How many of you are SO dedicated to your PTR's that you actually write down notes throughout the day as ideas come to you? Or am I the only true geek here? :dancer: Let's face it. Three pregnancies and three active boys have taken up all of the space that was in my brain for remembering things. If I don't write them down when they come to me, you can be SURE they will never make it to this little trippie :sad2:

I actually had a moment of panic a minute ago because I couldn't find my list of notes, or BITS AND PIECES if you will. :scared1: You can relax though. It was hiding under my keyboard. Disaster averted.

I'm just going to talk about some random things :offtopic: Hey! I didn't say they would be off topic. Just some different things about our trip that don't necessarily have anything to do with one another
.

First. You know there's always that ugly debate on the boards about taking kids out of school for Disney trips? Those threads always end ugly and I pretty much stay away (popcorn:: well, I don't POST anyway ;)). As I've mentioned, when we went to Disney last time, we were homeschooling. We could take a vacation whenever we wanted  This year I knew would be a different story. Liz :cutie: (wave to everyone Liz - Oh..and I mean "liznboys", not "Liz". It could get confusing in here  ) suggested the week of Martin Luther King Jr. day because our county only has school two half days that week. So, that's what we decided on. I emailed both boys' teachers and told them our plan. You all will be happy to know that both teachers are perfectly fine with our plans (DS7's teacher is a Disney fan herself  ). DS5's teacher said they probably wouldn't be doing much those two days anyway and she'd most likely have him keep a journal of his trip. We're good to go on the school front :teacher: :yay:

We're driving to Disney. You all know that. In March, because we were homeschooling, we left on a Friday morning (at 4 a.m. to beat the D.C. rush hour traffic:scared1: ). We got to Santee, SC by 1 pm. We could have continued driving (I had another reservation in Georgia that I FORGOT to call and cancel and had to pay for :sad2: ), but we didn't want to overdue it with the boys. Plus, the hotel in Santee was CHEAP :woohoo:

This time we knew we our choices were to leave after school on Friday afternoon (not a good idea to get on the road at that time around here, to say the least) or leave Saturday morning. But, that would mean arriving on Sunday...a whole day later than last trip :( So, I decided that we would drive a bit further that first day to try and make up for our later arrival. We'll be going to Savannah, Georgia this time (about 100 miles further south of Santee...oh! and the Best Western in Santee is a GREAT and CHEAP place to stay, if anyone is wondering :cool2: ). The place we're staying at has an indoor pool and I'm hoping we can enjoy that. We'll be pretty tired though.

The plan is to get up early the next morning and get to WDW early enough that we can hit MGM/DS (when does the official name change take place anyway? ) before having to get my parents from the airport. Our first day in WDW last time we didn't hit any parks. Just trying to make up for lost time. On the return trip, we'll do the same as last time. We'll leave WDW after lunch and drive to the same hotel in Savannah. We arrived around 6 pm in March so I expect the same in January. Then we'll finish the drive :drive: home the next day.

Lastly, let's talk Legos :woohoo: I've already mentioned getting the boys light sabers and Mr. Potato head pieces. Well, I didn't realize the Lego store let you fill boxes of unique lego pieces too! :upsidedow And to our credit, during our trip in March, we really didn't purchase many souvenirs. Honestly, I can't think of any souvenirs that we bought the boys while there. They each received a very special basket from Mickey when we arrived at our hotel and we felt that was enough. So, this time we plan to splurge a little. Does anyone have any suggestions on the legos? What kind of special ones are there?

I'm working on a special treat for you all. All I'll say is it's a poem and it'll be Disney related. When I'm feeling creative (or emotional :rolleyes1 ) I like to express myself through poetry. I'm not a "rhymer" though and I want THIS poem to rhyme. We'll see what happens :scared:

Up Next...FOOD!!!! (Did Someone Say Food?!)

I haven't made any notes but now that you mention it, that is a GREAT idea! I've got "mommy brain" too.:thumbsup2

We take 2 days to drive down too. I'm not really a flyer anyway but I really can't imagine trying to take DS on a plane! I think I'll stick to driving for now. We bought a Yukon right before our last trip. The extra space and DVD player were life savers.:)

Can't wait to read the poem!

Speaking of "mommy brain", before I forget this topic, I better post about it. One of my next tasks is to come up with a grocery list and meal ideas so that I can place an order at Garden Grocer. I'm still not sure how far in advance I should do this :confused3

We will eat breakfast most mornings at the townhouse. We'll also have a few lunches and dinners there (just checked my Disney folder  and it says "1 lunch and 4 dinners"). Does anyone have any suggestions for meals to have while we're there? I don't want anything that takes too much time to make since we'll be tired. My kids are also picky eaters. I'd like to do some fun-ish meals, that are maybe different than what we always have at home. I'd love to hear any suggestions :goodvibes

Wow! You're fast ;) I think I edited that post about 10 times after you read it :lmao:

Don't get too excited about the poem. I probably shouldn't have said anything. Now there will be this big anticipation and it'll stink and I'll let everyone down :sad1: ;)

yes, i take notes and i carry my unofficial guide and notepad with me 'bout everywhere i go

:::sigh:::

i'm hopeless

Hi Carissanboys,
I'm Liz' friend. Used to be her neighbor until she abandoned us:confused3 She pointed me to your pre-trippie. We're heading down to the happiest place on earth the same time you are (can't miss that two half days opportunity) Sounds like you have great plans. We're down to 44 days. Yippee!

:rotfl2: Sorry about posting so fast. I leave my laptop on and anytime I pass by it and see an email, I check it if I have a couple minutes. Today is :laundy: day. YUCK!! So anything to distract me from that is very welcome.;) BEAUTIFUL picture by the way. It made me run and go put on a sweater!

I don't really have suggestions on WHAT to make for meals but as far as Garden Grocer I believe they want you to make your order at least 2 weeks in advance. I think we made ours 3 and I even contacted them back right before we left to add more stuff. They were great! They didn't forget a single thing.:)

Hi Jenny! :welcome: Any friend of Liz is a friend of mine :) She's mentioned you many times before (don't worry...she didn't share any secrets or anything ;)) so it's nice to finally "meet" you.

So, did she recruit you to the disboards? Or were you maybe a long time lurker that finally decided to join up?
