Our 2nd Trip to Disney! Did it Measure Up? (w/pics) **THE END**

:rotfl2: Sorry about posting so fast. I leave my laptop on and anytime I pass by it and see an email, I check it if I have a couple minutes. Today is :laundy: day. YUCK!! So anything to distract me from that is very welcome.;) BEAUTIFUL picture by the way. It made me run and go put on a sweater!

I don't really have suggestions on WHAT to make for meals but as far as Garden Grocer I believe they want you to make your order at least 2 weeks in advance. I think we made ours 3 and I even contacted them back right before we left to add more stuff. They were great! They didn't forget a single thing.:)

Not a problem! Usually I try to "Preview Post" before I hit the submit button, but I guess I got a bit too excited. Then I remembered I wanted to post that picture.

Thanks for the info on Garden Grocer. I've only heard good things about them.

Good morning readers! :)

I have one of my final papers completed and a good portion of the 2nd so I'm feeling very good this morning. I plan to finish the 2nd one up today. My big problem is that I'm already over my word limit and I'm not even done writing it yet. Hate when that happens! I'll be taking out the hatchet later and doing lots of cutting.

Happy Friday!!

Oh...can I say how happy I am that my thread is now 6 pages long and the "last page" link now shows up next to my title on the main page?

It's the little things...the little things!

Enjoying your Pre-TR. We'll be there at the same time--maybe we'll see you at the P&P party, and then on Saturday driving to Savannah (that is where we're staying on the way home that day too). I don't think any of our other days matched up.

But our crocs do! I have the cleos, the mickeys, the lined mammoth & the others without the holes, but I don't remember what they're called.

Can't wait to hear more!

[So, did she recruit you to the disboards? Or were you maybe a long time lurker that finally decided to join up?[/QUOTE]

Liz pointed me in this direction summer of '06 when we were planning our Nov 06 trip. I'm pretty much still just a lurker as you can tell my post count, but I love coming here for info and to get a Disney fix!

Hello Sarah :welcome: I think there's a bunch of us heading to the world at that time! And aren't crocs the best? :thumbsup2

Thanks for stopping by :)

:welcome: and thanks! I'm glad you stopped by. (Darn! Now she might notice me stealing some of her ideas from HER trippie  ;))

:rotfl: Not a problem!! I'm loving your report! You are a very entertaining writer!!!

Happy Monday! :santa:

RE: Meals

We keep the meals easy and simple, like pasta and sauce, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, mac n cheese, fresh fruit, yogurt... I like to keep it easy for myself and not do anything too involved.

I'll have to remember Windsor Hills for our next trip (this one coming up is already booked!) Can't wait to hear your review of how well they pull the Disney theming off. We're going w/ 4 kids & my mother, so staying on property is $:scared1: $, but I couldn't see staying anywhere that didn't feel like Disney, so we're on site again this trip.

I have a strong-willed boy of my own (he's awesome, but exhausting!). I'd recommend two books: You Can't Make Me...(But I Can Be Persuaded); and The Way They Learn. Both books are by Cynthia Ulrich Tobias. They deal with the fact that we are all wired differently, and that most strong-willed children have a Concrete-Random style. She herself is concrete-random and strong-willed, so her books give a wonderful insight--and they're stinkin' hilarious at times!

Hello Ashley :welcome: Thanks for the recommendation :)

My two classes are finished and now I'm on "free" time :lmao: Free? What's that? I've been busy with Scout stuff (did I mention I'm a den leader for my son's Tiger Den?) and my youngest's medical issues.

I have written a good portion of my "treat" for you all. And I'll post another update soon. Hopefully things will calm down a little bit around here.

Thanks for staying faithful!

Thanks for stopping by :)

I forgot to mention that I also have that exact same bagallini in that color! Looking forward to more of your plans.

I apologize that this installment will be humorless. I just want to give a quick update and my brain is a bit fuzzy today :dance3:

My parents finally purchased their plane tickets through Jet Blue. I know that they're a bit concerned because they don't have the most stellar reputation. They're already traveling during the winter months, which can be iffy, but Jet Blue tends to cancel a lot. Hopefully, all will go well.

They were also suppose to order their tickets, but who knows if they've done that. Last time they waited and purchased their tickets at Shades of Green for the discounted rate. But, I have found it really isn't any cheaper to go through MWR than it is to buy through UCT.

So plans are moving right along!

I'm a little concerned about DS3's medical issues. A quick history is that he has suffered from constipation since birth. It wasn't until recently that they have finally been doing tests. I'm in the process of scheduling a rectal biopsy for him, as well as a possible IN patient "clean out" (sorry for the TMI!). And on January 8th, he has another follow up appointment with the Pediatric Gastroenterologist as well as a sweat test (for Cystic Fibrosis). I think we can schedule all of these things around our trip with no problem. My only concern is that IF they do the rectal bioposy and do indeed find out that he has Hirshsprung's Disease, I have a feeling they would want to do surgery immediately. Of course, my son's health comes before all else and we could always reschedule our trip. It would just be hard on the boys to get so close and have to change plans last minute. So, please keep DS3 in your thoughts and hope that all of the tests will come back negative :goodvibes

Does anyone watch Jon and Kate Plus 8 (I know you do Liz)? I didn't realize the special of them going to Disney was separate from their normal show so my DVR didn't record it. But, they're replaying it on Discovery Health next week and I'll catch it then. I'm very anxious to see it.

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and is all ready for the big day!! :santa:

Up Next...A Special Disney/Christmas Treat

I am loving your Pretrippie! :thumbsup2

Our family is considering WH townhouses also for our trip also so I cant wait to hear your views. They seem to get great reviews and seems to make more snese than two hotel rooms when you have a larger family.

For a quick FUN dinner for the kids my suggestion is Taco in a Bag. Super easy peasy. If you never have made them...all you have to do is brown ground beef (or whatever your prefered ground meat is I guess) and prepare like you would for tacos (use the season packet is the easiest as far as I am concerned). Once you are done with that all that is left is assembly and this can be done by all your ckids besides maybe the youngest. Take a single serving bag of Doritos or Fritos, open and crush in side the bag. Add your desired taco toppings and meat. mix with a fork and eat right out of the bag!
My kids LOVE this and eat without fussing. Gotta love that!!!

Sloppy Joes is another good easy meal if you dont care about having ground beef twice. We plan on finding out if they have a grill area there and grilling steaks or chicken if they do. I love the Lawry's brand Chipotle lime marinade for chicken and pork chops. Just dump the marinade in a bag with the meat before you leave for the parks and throw on the grill in the evening, I sposse they could be baked too. Hot dogs and Frozen pizza are always quick and my kids eat them without complaint. When we head down all meals will be planned on the "least complaint method"...if I spend all this money on a trip I dont want to hear my kids WHINE!

I sure hope your little guys is ok and the tests come out clean.

Boy for a chick with hardly any posts I am a wordy little something arent I???:rolleyes1

I watched John & Kate + 8 at Disney World. Oh My Goodness.

All I have to say is that they were very brave & luckily had help because I don't know that I would've been able to attempt it. Though I'm sure I would want my kids to experience it somehow. And, I also hope that they did a whole lot more than what they showed on TV, or driving 19 hours with 8 kids wasn't worth it.

Happy December 13th! (12 days til Christmas! )

That's great your parents at least got their plane tix! One thing down...

check out my sig... :cloud9:

I read some threads about the episode and it appears they only showed one day's worth of touring, but they were actually there for 5 days.

So, I promised a treat for you all. I only got two verses done and was planning on doing two more. But, since I haven't posted much lately and I probably won't be posting much until after the holidays at least, I thought I'd "offer" this to you all. It's pretty lame, but, hey...I tried! :santa:

Think “Jingle Bells” as you read this.

And just a quick update...

We're currently waiting for the hospital to call and tell us when they have a bed ready for DS3 so they can do a clean out. We're all packed and ready to go, but chances are we'll be there for the whole weekend.

Up Next...She Wants To Get A What?!

Big hugs for your son. That clean out is so hard for my adult patients I cant imagine a little guy going through that. Hopefully you will have answers at least. Answers at least can guide the way to the treatment. Many hugs to your family this weekend. :grouphug:
