This post isn't necessarily about OUR trip. Nope. This is about my sister's trip.
To give some background about her, she is not a stranger to travelling. She goes on a cruise every once in a while. Has been known to take long weekend trips to New York and Nova Scotia. And every year, her and a group of people rent a beach house for a week. So travelling is not an issue for her. Except to 1 location. Can anyone guess where? If you guessed Disney World... DING DIN GDING DING DING. Give yourself a round of appluase. She is always giving us grief about how much fun we had our 1st trip and how excited we are for our 2nd. She is constantly saying "Cancel that trip. Just come on the cruise with us." BDLsgal doesn't gamble and only drinks occassionally. And I really don't look forward to the beach destinations. So cruises really aren't on top of our list when it comes to spending money on a vacation (we usually save our money for Disney and do "stay-vactions").
Anyways... She is an regional manager for a national company, and as such has gone to the national conventions. Every year, the location has changed. And she has looked forward to every one... Except the one she was just on. Can anyone guess where this year's convention was? If you guessed Disney World... DING DING DING DING DING. Give yourself a round of appluase. The Coronado Springs Resort (and convention center) and the convention center at EPCOT, to be precise.
For months all we heard was "Wah wah wah..." When BDLsgal and I offered some advice, it went on deaf ears. We'd say things like, get there a day early. Go to the park at night. Enjoy some of the dining at the resorts if you don't want to pay for tickets. In response, we got (pout sulk, pout sulk) "I don't have time to be doing any of that stuff. (pout sulk, pout sulk) I'm going to be trapped in meetings all day. (pout sulk, pout sulk) Why couldn't it be somewhere fun?" (pout sulk, pout sulk).
Fast forward to the time of the conference. She went down 2 days before the conference started and got hooked up by a colleague with some twilight passes. And for the next 5 days, we kept getting text pics "Guess where I am". And all the pics that she put on Facebook, there's that Disney smile, ear to ear.
I haven't had a chance to talk to her since she got back. I think she's avoiding me (since we were kids, we'd NEVER give the other the satisfaction of "I told you so"). So, right now, I've been scheming to try to turn the tables on her. "Why don't you guys come down for a long weekend in Dec when we're down there?" It'll never happen. But, Christmas is the time of miracles.
