Our 2nd Trip in 3 Years. This Time, She's In On It (Dec 2012) CP Narrator Update 9/13

I love when we have gone with another couple to WDW. DH and his friend can go off for awhile while my friend and I shopped. But from the sounds of it, BDL intends to do a lot of shopping during MVMCP!

I wish my hubby were more like that. You are lucky.

I agree!!!! We are not even going to DTD this year because DH hates shopping so much. For some reason he is okay with Mouse Gears and the Emporium. :confused3 Maybe because he can shop with me for a few minutes and then go off and ride something while I finish.

I know I am a very lucky girl. I love that he will do stuff that most men won't do (like baking during the holidays or actively participates in any gift giving occasion and shop till you drop at Disney).

As for our vaca. - it will be nice for sure that he gets his time with his friend (perhaps start his drinking around the world at EPCOT) and it will give me, mom (LIL) and sis (SIL) time to do whatever. I have a feeling with all that is planned, mom may opt for a nap during the downtime :)

Wow that is awesome that you will get to spend some time with your friend and his family!!!! :goodvibes

If that is what you call it - Are you complaing cause I am giving you free rein BIL (aka BDL)? I bet there are lots of people who would love their MIL or LIL to say your the boss (for the trip only):) BDL is the Best and is planning the bestest trip ever!!
To the girl planning the trip with her Mom - Take my word when your Mom walks through the gates she will be a little kid again - back to her Mickey Mouse Club Age
OK we will see if I do this right.

He did plan naptime didn't he???

This post isn't necessarily about OUR trip. Nope. This is about my sister's trip.

To give some background about her, she is not a stranger to travelling. She goes on a cruise every once in a while. Has been known to take long weekend trips to New York and Nova Scotia. And every year, her and a group of people rent a beach house for a week. So travelling is not an issue for her. Except to 1 location. Can anyone guess where? If you guessed Disney World... DING DIN GDING DING DING. Give yourself a round of appluase. She is always giving us grief about how much fun we had our 1st trip and how excited we are for our 2nd. She is constantly saying "Cancel that trip. Just come on the cruise with us." BDLsgal doesn't gamble and only drinks occassionally. And I really don't look forward to the beach destinations. So cruises really aren't on top of our list when it comes to spending money on a vacation (we usually save our money for Disney and do "stay-vactions").

Anyways... She is an regional manager for a national company, and as such has gone to the national conventions. Every year, the location has changed. And she has looked forward to every one... Except the one she was just on. Can anyone guess where this year's convention was? If you guessed Disney World... DING DING DING DING DING. Give yourself a round of appluase. The Coronado Springs Resort (and convention center) and the convention center at EPCOT, to be precise.

For months all we heard was "Wah wah wah..." When BDLsgal and I offered some advice, it went on deaf ears. We'd say things like, get there a day early. Go to the park at night. Enjoy some of the dining at the resorts if you don't want to pay for tickets. In response, we got (pout sulk, pout sulk) "I don't have time to be doing any of that stuff. (pout sulk, pout sulk) I'm going to be trapped in meetings all day. (pout sulk, pout sulk) Why couldn't it be somewhere fun?" (pout sulk, pout sulk).

Fast forward to the time of the conference. She went down 2 days before the conference started and got hooked up by a colleague with some twilight passes. And for the next 5 days, we kept getting text pics "Guess where I am". And all the pics that she put on Facebook, there's that Disney smile, ear to ear.

I haven't had a chance to talk to her since she got back. I think she's avoiding me (since we were kids, we'd NEVER give the other the satisfaction of "I told you so"). So, right now, I've been scheming to try to turn the tables on her. "Why don't you guys come down for a long weekend in Dec when we're down there?" It'll never happen. But, Christmas is the time of miracles. :littleangel: :santa:

What is earning my ears???? I had MM ears before you were even a twinkle in anypne's eyes!!!

It depends on how many posts you've put up. "Earning Your Ears" means that you've only posted a few times. I've got a bunch more, that's why my profile is dubbed "Veteran".

The more you post, the more you can do with your acct. For example, I don't think you are able to post website links yet. Once you hit certain plateaus, you'll be able to post links and pics.

(side note: Is there anyone that wasn't strangled/choked, either by the seat belt or by a parent when they rode Space Mtn in the 1980's?).

Just joining in and after reading the above quote I had to laugh OUT LOUD... I can't even mention Space Mountain without my daughter carrying on about how she was practically blue after her very first ride on Space Mountain back in the 80s. In my defense, I was merely "clutching" her tighter because she kept pulling on my arm so hard that I thought she was trying to try to climb out (it was her first roller coaster ride, and she was about 6). I later learned she was just trying to "loosen" my grip because she couldn't breathe..... eh....sorry?? :lmao:

It's DOUBLE DIGIT day...

Welcome aboard. I'm sure she's over it by now. If not, it makes for amusing conversation at family get-togethers and holidays

Found this cool video about the potential lock-out. I don't know what side you're on but the video is super NHLPA-centric (I'm pro-hockey, leaning towards the players).

I cried. Thought you'd enjoy :)

THANK YOU for sharing that. No matter what you think of the situation, the last phrase was right. Hockey isn't about the money but about the moments that last a lifetime. I will make sure BDL sees this when he gets home. I loved it!

Did you cry??? They had a clip of Jessica Redfield on there right before the sad Duchene (Avs guy). She was the one that died in the shooting.

And the ending where my team got Bourque his cup! I always cry during any version of that :)

No, I didn't cry, but I did get chills. And even though I would have preferred Bourque's win to have happened with the Bruins, I am happy and get chills watching him with the cup. I have heard radio reports that some of the B's players are saying the could see the season starting in November. I really hope there is a hail Mary and they get this thing figured out before the actual start of the season!!
