Our 2nd Shot at the Dream Team -TONS OF PICS. 10/28 New PTR LINK

I have been complaining forever that we haven't had any snow. Well today when we woke up we saw this.............

IMG_2181-1.jpg

We were so excited!:cool1: The boys finally had a snow day! NO SCHOOL!:woohoo:

So do any of you recall the beginning of my Pre-TR when I said what Eric lacks in size he makes up for in ATTITUDE:rolleyes1 Well here is an example. The boys were up and outside playing in the snow by 8:30am:scared1: Ther was NO holding them back. Well after an hour and a half I decided enough was enough and it was time to come in. They willingly came in BUT...Eric said he was HOT so he did not want to put on a t-shirt under his shirt and then proceeded to get dressed WITHOUT the t-shirt. I told him that once he cooled down he would be cold so to please(why am I begging):sad2: put the t-shirt on. He says FINE! So when I see him next this is what he looks like..

It's going to be a long day................. Here is what the boys spent the rest of the morning doing....

Oh, man, Diane, if you were looking for snow, my friend, you should have come to visit me. :rotfl2: We've had record snows this year and I am SOOO over winter.

I loved the look on Eric's face. Enjoy your kareoke snow day!

That's a funny story about Eric. But I have to say, that's what I see the high school kids wearing these days, and some of the college kids. They even make 1-piece shirts that look like long sleeved shirts with t-shirts over them. So maybe Eric is just quite stylish!

Glad y'all got snow. Please explain - what is that? haha I'm glad the kids are enjoying their day off. Is that Rockstar? We have two different Guitar Heroes and have a ball with them.

Love the pins. The kids are going to have a blast. I can't wait to hear their reactions after Easter.

I know you have had alot of snow. We usually get some each winter but this was the longest we have gone without getting any accumulating snow so the kids could play! You'll be done with winter in 1 week:goodvibes Thanks for checking in!:thumbsup2

You know it's funny Eric does like that layered surfer/skater look but I just thought that he just personified his attitude in that moment!:rolleyes1 Yes they were playing Rock Band for XBOX 360 they are amazing at it:scared1: Me, not so much. They don't like it when I play with them, I always make them fail:rotfl: I don't knowhow I missed it but just noticed your from Austin. I have a good friend that lives in Round Rock. Is that near by? Thanks for posting Susan!:goodvibes

I live near Lake Travis/Lakeway now, but in Sept 2006 we moved from Round Rock after 6.5 years there. It is about 25-30 minutes from us and really just north of Austin. It's basically considered part of Austin. We love it here!

What a small world! My girlfriend loves it there. She moved to Ireland for a year because her DH got transferred but has since returned!:goodvibes

DS, too hates come in from the snow

That face is priceless:rotfl2:

Loving the new pins:thumbsup2

Love the pictures of your boys! :)

You can have the snow. At this point, I want SPRING! We had a 70 degree day on Monday and then it got cold and it snowed and we had freezing rain. Blech. It's so dreary outside right now. I want to be in Orlando!!!

Great pics of the boys!!

:rotfl2: All the snow is completely washed away now! I am satisfied now. The boys got to play in it once and that's enough. Of course now I want spring to hurry up and get here.:goodvibes Thanks for posting!:thumbsup2

I am starting to think about our arrival night. We are using Disney's Magical Express. Our flight gets in about 8:50pm so we decided that we will grab our own luggage. Do you guys think that is a good idea? I would like to have our luggage the same night so I can unpack and be ready to go first thing in the morning. If I let ME get our bags, they probably won't be delivered until midnight or later:confused3 What do you think.

Does anyone have experience with laptop locks? I would like to bring our laptop so we can download our pictures each night. I cannot find much info. about the in room safes at AKL. I am a little more laid back but Bryan is a nervous pervous:rotfl:

We booked our trip through AAA so I have no control over our ressie. As you all know I have made MANY CHANGES:rolleyes1 to our trip.:lmao: I haven't put in a room request yet. Here is my question, Should I wait until about a week before and call the AKL directly and then put in a request? We have a standard room booked currently but hoping for a pool or savannah view if one becomes available:confused3 What has your experience been?

Thank for all your insight:goodvibes

I haven't been since DME, but in your case, I'd get your luggage. You may be tired by the time you get to the hotel around 9:30 or later and may want to unpack rather than waiting even one additional hour for your luggage. That's my 2c.

I have a laptop lock that I use at work, but it doesn't really do much. I travel a lot for business, so I'll give my input based on that. Most of the room safes are deep enough for a normal sized laptop. So sometimes I will lock it in the safe. Other times, I just hide the laptop under some clothes in one of the drawers (not the top one). (Now that everyone knows where my laptop is, I better be careful!!) There have also been times that I have just left the laptop out and running at the desk, and put my "do not disturb" sign up. But that's when I only plan to be away for a couple of hours max. Another option might be to bell-check your laptop whenever you leave the room, but I could see that that could be a hassle and cost a $1 tip for each check-in/check-out. Just be sure to back up your laptop before you leave home so that if anything should happen, you'll still have all the info.

I think I would go ahead and put the request in now. I wonder if they honor requests in chronological order? If you put the request in, it won't hurt if you are able to transfer to a pool or savannah view later.

Thanks Susan for your input!:thumbsup2 I think I will go ahead and call my AAA agent on Monday and ask her to put in my requests. The more research I did I definitely think we will get our own luggage! Not sure about the laptop yet?

Definitely get your own luggage. That is what the majority of people do with late arrivals:goodvibes

I don't know anything about a laptop lock...sorry there:goodvibes

I found, that if you fax the resort 3 days before your trip with a nice friendly letter

Just put down maybe 2 or 3 request at the most, and explaing why you want each thing.

Make sure you put your name, confirmation number and date checking in.

I think you c an get all the resort fax numbers

on all ears site

that is what I did for the past 2 years and have gotten what I wanted each time:goodvibes

I don't know anything about laptop locks, BUT I do know a laptop WILL NOT fit in the safe at AKL!!!

I'll check and see if I took a picture of one, but it was TINY!!!

WE GOT OUR AIRFARE:cool1: :yay:  :cool1:  :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

Are you ready.......................

GRAND TOTAL $620 for all 4 of us!!

I could not be more relieved!! Now the crazy part. I booked our package through AAA and saved about $340 by doing so. Well in order to get this outstanding airfare we had to add a day (aww shucks):rolleyes1 BUT POFQ is not available on the 20th with the AAA rate, so I could not add that day onto my package. So what do I do you ask:confused3 I call Disney and ask for a room only ressie for one night. She says they don't have the AAA rate at POFQ(which I already knew) but they did have Riverside available:confused: So I asked for the rack rate at POFQ and the difference was about $25 dollars total so................ I booked it!:thumbsup2 I figure it would be way less stressful then dragging our luggage from one resort to the next!

Our revised travel dates look like this...

Arrive 4/20 @ 8:30pm (I know this is late but the next day we can just hit the ground running and won't be tired from getting up so early!) Plus we get an extra night!:cool1:

4/21-4/30 POFQ Magic your way with park hopper and Basic Disney Dining Plan!

I feel so excited to have that airfare booked! Thanks for listening!:thumbsup2

Hi there! :wave2: Just found your thread! We had trouble finding cheaper airfare too. We were supposed to travel 4/16 - 4/25 but the airfare was ridonkulous (about $400 per person each way!!) So we changed our stay to 4/15 - 4/28 and even though we had to pay for 4 extra nights, with the difference in airfare we still saved quite a chunk of dinero!
