You plan for a year. Work your rear end off those last few days trying to get ready. Man that last day was so hectic. We had the RV really packed. We had hoped to get on the road by 5 or 6 pm. It was 8 when we finally left town. This was our first trip with our class A. Tried to do it right driving 60 to 65 mph. At times I found myself driving about 55mph. We had over 1000 miles to cover and it took forever at these slow speeds. We tried to drive all the way without stopping but got so tired so we stopped at a rest area at 4 am and slept for 3 hours. I think it was 7 pm when we arrived at the Fort. I will post much more later, I have a lot to tell!

A lot of work, but a lifetime of memories! I'm looking forward to hearing more about your trip!

WOW!!! A thousand miles with only one three hour stop. It takes us three days to do 900 miles.

Hooray! Another trip report. Can't wait to read more. You are off to a great start.:banana:

1000 miles! I can't believe you only stopped once. I love your Winnebago by the way.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

Ok, my first part of this report was a little whiney about the work of last minute packing and the long slow trip. Now for all the many good parts!
We pulled up to the check-in area at about 6:30pm on Friday the 3rd. It went very smooth, very pleasant. The girl was so nice. I asked her for a site that backed up to the canal. She quickly checked and switched us from 1801 to 1812, our favorite site. Now we are happy! As we pulled into the 1800 loop, I couldn't believe how many empty sties there were. The loop was nearly deserted until it filled up suddenly on Friday the 10th. We offloaded the GC from the trailer, pulled out the awning and set up the tent. Did some looping and had a beer or 2, just took it easy and enjoyed the magical ambiance that is Fort Wilderness. Man it was so great to be back. Its been 2 1/2 years. I did notice that the pool was pretty crowded every day except late at night. The Fort is still a really nice looking place but when are they going to replace all the dead plants in the interior of the loops. Those areas are very sad to look at. I know they had to kill the potato vines. Thats all for now. Thanks for your time.

On Sunday we got up early, had breakfast, and headed to the dock to catch a boat to the MK. It was a beautiful morning. We were so excited to see Ava's reaction to all things Disney at MK. At 3 yrs old, she already knows all the princess movies, often singing the theme songs. We arrived before opening so we were able to watch the opening ceremony. We headed straight through the castle and into fantasyland. Its still fun for all to ride all the "kiddie rides". Then we rode splash mountain, BTMR and then headed back to camp for lunch and a nap. Went back late afternoon and rode Space Mountain and the Tea Cups. All day long we enjoyed short lines. At 9:00 pm we checked in at the Tomorrowland Terrace for the Dessert Party. This was the best part of the day, we just love it. It's so nice and restful after a long day. The sweet treats are so good as well. This is the second time we did it and it will definately be a family tradition. Yes, our first park day was a very good day!

We're excited! My Mother-in-law waving

We are staying at the fort for 8 nights in Sept. by we I mean 15 of us - we have 4 cabins. We have never stayed there, but my Dad has always wanted to.
So it is on set of grandparents (my parents), there three daughters (me being one of them) 3 son in laws, 4 grandkids (my son is 4 1/2), one Aunt (my mom's sister) my nephew and his mom (my brother in laws ex) long story - we are closer to my BIL's ex and nephew then we are to my BIL!

We are so excited and I can't believe I booked this 13 months before the trip and now I only have 3 months to go.
Ok enough rambling - on with the report please!!!
