Our 2008 grand, GRAND FLORIDIAN Christmas trip 12/6-12/14

We are officially going back to Disney!!! We are leaving in about 5 hours!!! Are we insane?!?
A friend of mine from high school...who used to work at Disney...was able to get us 3 park hopper tickets...I had two more, that we have from 2001. I have been waiting all day for this friend to email me the phone number of the contact person...which he just did so, I called WDW right away to see what they had available for a room only ressie...got POR for 2 nights, used a code I found on mousesavers...got a GREAT deal...I then made an ADR at Tony's Town Square, for lunch on Saturday...so, we're on our way!!! I can't even believe this!!!
My plan is to arrive at WDW, between 9pm and midnight tomorrow night...maybe go to MK or Epcot...just found out that MK has EMH that morning...definately won't want to be getting up too early...so, maybe we'll do Epcot...which I'll need to change my ADR...go back to the hotel...swim...then head to MK that night...it closes at midnight. We'll sleep late Sunday, have Mickey waffles for breakfast...swim for a good part of the day...maybe head to DTD...and then take off for my parent's house. I have been so excited for this trip but, now even more so...I can't believe how this has all turned out!!! Just need to pray now...for NOOOOOO traffic!

Hi there, I just wanted to ask you a few questions about getting the best deal at the GF. I also have three daughters and sooo want to bring them to the GF at Christmas. When I priced the vaca to there it was nearly $7400(thats flight and food too). Anyway I would love some pointers on how to get the most for my money. It's so expensive that I'm saving 400 bucks a month til Dec 2010 to pay for it!

That's actually not bad, if flights and food are included! I think my original ressie...room and tickets was $3204...then we added on the mealplan...for about $900...flights were $1300 for RT, Boston to MCO, nonstop. I got a great deal on the room...I had a code with my name. When you call WDW, you need to specifically ask them if they have any codes/pins with your name...they won't offer that info to you. (I learned that here!) Also, every time I found an offer with a code(Mousesavers.com is great, they update with almost every code available), that I thought might apply to my ressie...I called to see if it could be applied...most of the time, it could but, my pin offer, that was linked to my name, always came out to be the better deal. AAA also, offers some deals. $400/month ought to get you there...without any problem! We're planning on going back then, too 11/26-12/4/2010...staying at BCV...that is the thought, as of right now. We are actually leaving in about a half hour, to spend 2 days at WDW...unexpectedly...I'm hoping to make a decision on DVC, while we're there...BCV, is where we're hoping to buy.

Kristen Well, DH's alarm should be going off any second...he'll be up to shower and then we're off. Just crazy!!! I'm so excited...making an ADR, was even exciting! Hope I can update, when I get there...I loaded a ton of pics onto photobucket, so that I can make a big dent, in my TR...I'm only on Day #4, Dec 9th!!! It'll take me a year and a half to finish at this rate! AGHHH!!! I hear the alarm...time to climb up to the attic to get the last of the suitcases and we're off!!!

I have never been at Christmas and I am SO excited! I don't have a PTR, I've thought about starting one, but since it's still 8 months away, it seems too early.

Finally coming out of lurkdom... loving this TR!

I was laughing so hard when I was reading the part about the Small World incident That sort of happened to us last June... we were in Carousel of Progress and the little rotating stage got jammed and the scene from the 1940's repeated 6 TIMES! I was able to quote the whole segment by the time we got out.

Sunshine Sneezy Thanks for joining us!!! It was so funny...the Small World!!! We actually skipped that this weekend...we were short on time! LOL! But, we did end up getting stuck in The Haunted Mansion...I actually enjoyed it, strangely...you end up seeing lots of details that you otherwise miss. We were stuck right over the bday dinner scene. So, I bet you did memorize that scene..."It's a great beauiful tomorrow..." I love the Carousel of Progress...my DD and I sat in the very front row and tried to find as many things in each scene, that we had never seen before!!!

Kristen I was so excited to be in Disney...can't wait to share all the new details...thought, I might be a little sad, that it wasn't Christmas and that it might feel weird...I'm officially reporting that it was NOT weird...it was amazing...and I'm so happy to know that I can do Disney anytime!!!Phew!!! Some cute changes since we were there...obviously no giant Christmas trees...I'll post some pics soon.

Hi!!! I was gone for a while but I'm back and all caught up. I'm pregnant with my first baby and I was soooooo tired that I couldn't stay awake long enough at night for the internet!!! Hello everyone...we're back!!!!!!!!! We had a great trip...perfect weather, relaxing yet, fun...can't wait to tell you all about it! I did have internet while we were there but, it never lasted long enough to do anything...I'd get kicked off or lose connectivity or freeze...it got too frustrating...easier to check things from my phone...and THAT was not easy.

Kristen: Hope you're enjoying this great weather...I dropped that girl off in Plymouth...hmmm, too funny...she looked just like you! She wanted me to tell you that she had a great time and was sorry she took your place! Yes, Disney can be done any time...imagine?!? It was beautiful when we were there...I would imagine that when you go back that it will be all decorated for fall/Halloween...how fun!!!!! Hope your training is going well...after how much we ate this past week, I'm thinking that if you do another 5k after this one coming up...I may just join you in that training...wow!!! Let the diet begin...again!!!
