Our 1st family trip without a diaper bag! Jan 2012 PTR

So this post is a little of this and a little of that....

First, this is our Disney spending money savings jar! We've used this the last couple of trips and it works! When the boys KNOW we're going to Disney, they really help out saving! As soon as Daddy comes through the door after work, they clean out his pockets and in the jar that change goes!:thumbsup2 Now that they don't know we're going, they are pretty good about it, they find a penny in the parking lot at Target, it always goes into our Disney account, as we call it. The boys and Todd spent Saturday morning rolling what was in there, we're doing alright, we have $121.58 in our savings so far. We use this as our spending money in the parks. I said to Todd we need to step it up some now but we're thinking of asking the grandparents for Disney gift cards for Christmas for the kids so they can use them on vacation to pick out that special something they'd like.

And I told you about the boys luggage, here it is! It's not the prettiest, well, they are boys, but we thought it worked because we'd see it on the belt at the airport for sure! We bought 3 of them, exactly the same, we've learned our lessons, if we get the different someone is always upset on what we chose for them, so all the same makes for less arguements! ;)

Sorry for the side way pic, photobucket isn't playing nice, again....:headache:

A couple of things I've picked up to add to stockings or goodie bags for the kids. The last couple of trips, I've made goodie bags for the airplane to keep us all happy, it works out well and of course I have to make them Disney themed!:wizard:

Coming up next day 2 plans!

Picked up a new park bag today, shhhhh, don't tell Todd!! ;) Disney was offering 25% today online I had to take advantage of it! And this was on sale for $19.99 anyways! So I will get it and wrap it for under the tree for me from him, so I really just helped him out, right? :rotfl:

Isn't it cute?! I got the silver/grey one, it's different and fun! I can't wait to get it!!!

He'll carry the backpack with the sweatshirts, ponchos, Passporter, etc. But this will act as my purse and I'll have everything else..camera, bandaids, gum, that sort of thing! I think this will work perfectly!!

That is a great family picture!!!

I love your park bag as well, I think that will work well.

wow--great picture!!

the plan to surprise them on Christmas sounds like so much fun. I love big Christmas surprises. Our boys got a kitten last year, and it kind of bums me out how I know I won't be able to match that this year.

What a beastuful family you have.

I think you will love ASMusic. We stayed there in Jan. in 2 rooms...4 adults and 3 boys. The boys loved the pook and the games and activities each day. We stayed in Calypso and I think that is where the suiyes are and it was super convenient. WE onlt shred buses on the middle of the day a couple of times.

This year just me, my DD and her 2 boys are going and we are staying in ASMovies The little guy is just 3 and we are definiyely bringing a stroller...for control so he doesn't go running off on us. We are going Jan. 21-28.YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks LL, I can't wait to get it back from Sears! I love it, too!! It was a GOOD day!! :rotfl:

I can't wait to get the bag in the mail, I told Todd tonight he bought me something...let's hope I can part with it until Christmas! LOL!! ;)

Thank you so much!!!!

I know, I can't wait! You know I have to get this on video and somehow figure out how to post it here so you guys can see how we pulled it off, too! Any ideas and thoughts are appreciated! I found some cute luggage tags I can make tonight to maybe make part of it. We'll see. I know, Christmas surprises are the best for the kids. And how sweet the kids got a kitten last year, I bet they loved that!! Lucky boys!!

I love your input on ASMusic! I'm really excited about the family suite, I think this will be such a big relief for DH & I, we can actually watch t.v. once getting the kids to bed and have some space, for all of us. Family time is good, but it's nice to have a little space from time to time! LOL!!

How exciting you're planning a January trip, too! We'll just miss you though!! :(

Moving on to Day 2! Let's just remind you, we'll be up SUPER early the day prior, having a 6 a.m. flight out of Boston, an hour ride to the airport...ya, we're getting up at like 3 a.m. Sunday morning...our plan was to check in the hotel, have a quick lunch at the resort and head to MK, just because! :) I'm hoping we'll get a good night sleep this night and be ready to tackle the week at this point!

Day 2 will be at Epcot! Our favorite things at this park are Soarin', Test Track, the Character Spot and the boys love doing the Kidcot stations. This being our 1st family trip alone (the last couple have been grand gatherings for those that haven't read my reports before), I hope to just have the chance to take the countries in a little more than the last couple of trips. Maybe even have the chance to sample a drink or two around the World! ;) I've heard wonderful things about the Grey Goose Slushies....anything else anyone else would like to suggest?

We do have lunch plans at Coral Reef this day. I've found in the past the sit down meals at lunch time work out well for us. We're stay on the park all day long type of people, we aren't patient enough for trips back to the resort for a swim, nap or anything else. So sit down meals at lunch work out for us, gives us a chance to get off our feet, in the a/c, plan our attack for the rest of the day and just breath. I'm really looking forward to this with just my family. Last time, we had 6 kids in our party and meal time wasn't always easy. I can't wait to hear what the kids loved, want to do again, and just those quiet family moments. We had a not so great service at our last meal at Coral Reef, but we do LOVE the atmosphere and think the kids will love it, too! Our plan is to maybe have Sunshine Seasons for dinner on the run that night.

So what do you think?:confused3

I secretly bought myself something from the Disney Store online as well....a Dooney & Bourke!!!!! I bought the Pink wristlet...it was already on sale plus the additional 25%. What a steal!

Day 3, I'm REALLY looking forward to this day!!! It will be our 1st full day at Magic Kingdom! But what i'm really looking forward to is we have 8 a.m ressies for Crystal Palace so we get to go on the park before anyone else!:wizard: I've never done this before! I can't wait to get some pictures of the park empty! And I'm really looking forward to this breakfast, too. popcorn:: Although I am a little worried that my boys will think that Pooh & friends is too babyish for them? :confused3 They did love (even Ethan!) seeing the Pooh movie this Summer, so hopefully it will be fine!

This is our 1st time doing such an early sit down breakfast, so not sure how the rest of the day will go meal wise...thinking we'll be pretty full, so maybe just a mid afternoon counter service lunch and a snack going through our food court on they way "home" that night? Magic Kingdom is open only until 8 p.m. this night, so we'll be back fairly early, I would think if we're there that early, you know?

Some of you may or may not know this, my tradition is to always ride "It's a Small World" first, it's my fav, to me it speaks Disney. I can't take the entire blame on this, it was my Mom's tradition when we went to Disney as kids, so I've now created the same thing for my family, Todd & I did it when we honeymooned first (his 1st trip to Disney!) and ever since! So we'll start there.... but we do love all the rides in Magic Kingdom! People mover, COP, Snow White, HM, awww...to be there now!!!:cloud9:

Coming up, day 4!

love the family picture and the new bag!

We did Crystal Palace Pre park this last trip- loved it! I loved the puffed french toast from the kids bar. We had an 8:10 and by the time that we were seated, the made to order area was bogged down with people- so maybe hit this quickly before more people get sat?

And thank you for the tip on CP! I'm taking notes, good to know for sure! :goodvibes

Hey Kristen!

One of my must drinks in Epcot (besides the Grey Goose Slushie) is the Blood Orange margarita from La Cava de Tequila inside the Mexican pavilion. Yummo! And it packs a punch...you only need one! A little pricey, but sooooo worth it. All of the margaritas there are best on property. Well, Hacienda de San Angel has yummy ones, too....and the margarita stand in Downtown Disney...LOL! I like my margaritas on the rocks, so theirs are right up my alley. I do get the blood orange margarita in a to go cup (it's bigger, LOL) and without the salt because it is colored and gets everywhere. If you saw my FB pics from our trip in May, you can see a pic of the effects of just one drink...we picked up one before our dinner at Via Napoli and looked very happy!! The boys took a pic of the four of us girls while we were waiting for our ADR. In our defense, we hadn't eaten anything yet....

Happy sipping!

Oh, I almost forgot a new drink I tried in May. The Canta-Loopy in China. They pour cantaloupe juice over ice, then top it off with a VERY generous portion of grey goose on top. A lot of bang for the buck. It's at a kiosk stand outside of the pavilion. I shared it with my friend and we both wished we got our own, LOL!

I don't know if you like Rosa Regale, but you can get a bottle of it at Pioppi's for $20. Quite a better price than at Disney's Italy.

CP breakfast is great and I love the walk down an empty Main Street. Their OJ is delious and we all love the french toast. The characters are OK, we are not big fans of Pooh and friends
