The day we board (June 12th) will be our 1st Wedding Anniversary. (Ironically, I proposed in the Rose Garden at Magic Kingdom, and we were married on the beach in Florida. This Florida thing is getting to be a habit!).

I'm wondering whether to mention the Anniversary to anyone on the ship. My wife will tell me not to bother with it, but one of the two things I've learned about women is that when they tell you not to bother with something important to them, that means do whatever you need to do, at any expense, to make sure you bother with it.

So my question is, what would they do? I'm not one for attention, but I'm sure she'd be overwhelmed even if they just mentioned our names.

By the way, the other thing I've learned is that when momma's happy, everyone's happy.

My DH and I celebrated our 1st anniversary on the Disney Wonder last October...we too married at WDW...:)

There were a couple nice little touches in our stateroom. And we were given a dessert one night, the waiters sang to us, and we got buttons. :)

It was sweet. :) I would say definitly mention it. It's always fun!

We celebrated a belated anniversary on our May, 2001 cruise. Our actual anniversary is Dec. 30, but we couldn't get away until May. I don't remember telling our TA about it, but somehow DCL found out, and we were surprised (shocked would be a better description!) by a cake at our table on our second night.

We're cruising again in December (it will be our third DCL cruise) for our son and daughter-in-law's anniversary. While I don't expect DCL to do anything about it, it would be a lovely surprise if they do.

TELL THEM!!!!! They'll sing "happy anniversary to you..." and give you a cake and you might even be seated with other anniversary couples. At least that's what happened a couple of years ago. Momma will be happy!!!!!

From someone with more experience, if she tells you not to bother with it. TELL THEM TELL THEM TELL THEM!!!!!!! Make a big deal out of it or you may hear about it for many years to come.

Have a great time, I think a Disney crusie would be a great place to have a first anniversary.

That's what happened to us when we mentioned our anniversary to our waitstaff.

We celebrated our 25th Anniversary on the Wonder, and we were seated with honeymooners. We felt so old!! I believe that we received a Minnie & Mickey figurine in our statemroom (unless that was in our room at the Boardwalk - can't remember)

Definately tell your wait staff.....but even before you sail you should call DCL and have it noted on your reservation.

We celebrated our 20th Anniversary onboard the Wonder and had it noted on our ressie. When we checked in we were quite surprised to find out we were upgraded to a balcony cabin (from an inside) and found a bottle of champagne chilling and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries waiting in the cabin with a note of congratulations from DCL!!

Now, I am sure this does not happen all the time but we just happen to be lucky that cruise. I know the ship was far from being full as it was in October....but moral of the story is....LET DCL KNOW AHEAD OF TIME OF ANY CELEBRATIONS!!!!

On 5/17/03 I will be celebrating my birthday as we board the Magic....I have already informed DCL that I plan on celebrating that whole week, not just Saturday...I do not expect anything from Disney but it can't hurt to let them know!!!!
