Waitlist Points Utilization Question

So I have a reservation booked for Resort View at AKV Kidani. I used my Grand Floridian points to book this reservation. I now have set up a waitlist for a Savanna View, which will obviously be more points if it comes through. I have selected this waitlist to "replace my existing reservation" and have selected my Beach Club contract to be the contract used to borrow the additional points from.

MY QUESTION IS: If the waitlist comes through, will ONLY the additional points needed to fill the reservation be the points taken from my Beach Club contract? Or will the ENTIRE reservation then be replaced with Beach Club points instead of Grand Floridian points?

I'm assuming the former, but just wanted to make sure on this. Thanks for any help!

Do you actually need to borrow points for the Savanna View room? If I know I have enough current year points amongst all my contracts to cover the increase, I keep the selection as "Do Not Borrow." MS can then use whichever points they want to make the new booking, since you can always just go back in later to reorder or change contracts.

The way it should work is the waitlist will take the VGF points that were used to book the resort view, and then the additional points for the savanna view premium will be taken from BCV. If the waitlist matches automatically and that is not how it ends up happening, you can always modify the reservation and adjust it yourself, or contact Member Services.

Ah, maybe I should have selected "do not borrow" in that case. I was misinterpreting their question to mean "which contract do you want to have the additional points taken from?".

They will use the points in the system and then take the rest from your other contracts. If you want them to use BCV points to fill it, and it doesn't require borrowing, then call MS and have them add a note that is what you prefer over taking more of your VGF points.
