Our 15th anniversary trip, or will my ds survive?

Ok, I have never attempted this before, so in hopes not to bore you, I will try to write this as if we have been bff.

The cast of characters

Me- DM- love all things disney. Have been a kizillion times and still cant wait to go again.

DH- Always asks if there isnt some other place to go for vacation?
Silly boy. we went on our honeymoon and at least every other year since.

Ds- 14 and still likes to go, just doesnt get as excited as he used to. Would love it more if he could bring along his wii

Ddog- (not sure of the abbreviation for a pet) not coming with us, but as she is part of the planning need to include her as well

We are leaving one week from Saturday and will be staying for the first time at POR. The reviews posted here recently havent been that favorable and I am starting to second guess this decison. Hopefully all will go well. This trip will be our 15th wedding anniversary trip and I do want it to be special for my DH. We are driving to the world as we only live about an hour away.

I have made all my adrs, and have started to think about packing, and making my schedules for where we will be what day and what are our must sees. My ds and dh think I am so crazy for reading these boards every day, my dh keeps saying he used to have a wife.

Let me also thank all of you who have given me so much information for our upcoming trip. Even if I havent posted on your particular threads, I do lurk alot.

Only 12 days????? You are soooo lucky. We've never stayed at POFQ-this will be our first time. looking forward to hearing more.

Here we are just 10 days out for our anniversary trip, and everytime I want to get my plans in motion, I have to go to work. uggggghhh

I finaly had a chance to make arrangements to board my DDog, I think she will not want to come home. This place has a pool and everything for the pets, Its really nice, but my dh is starting to go thru dog withdrawal anxiety.
We only got her a year ago, and as we have never been away from her overnight before, he is very worried about leaving her alone.

My DS is going thru finals at school and as its the end of the year, he keeps coming up with more things he needs $$$ for. Doesnt he realize hes taking $$ away from our magical trip?

I have made most of our ADRs but not sure if I have made right decisions.

Saturday- 50's Prime Time for dinner.
Sunday- Tusker House for breakfast
Coral Reef for dinner
Monday- Liberty Tree for dinner
Tuesday- Le Cellier for lunch ( only adr I could get while we are there)
Wednesday- Yak and Yeti for dinner
Thursday- we are winging it for now

What do you think? Any changes you would make?

Have been calling and calling Coral Reef to try to get a diver for my DH and have left several voice mails for Debbie, but have not received a call back

Also want to get a cake for him, but think I will wait till we get there, will this work?

Well off to get my Ds to work on his homework, TG only two more weeks of school.

Ok, even though no one is responding, I will continue in hopes of attracting someones attention

Today we can finaly do the single digit dance.

Only 9 more days till we are back home.

Even though my DH is at Home Depot every day ( literaly, he works there) I do not have my alien green mickey heads, he keeps forgetting.

I keep trying to call Coral Reef to make my diver reservations, but Deb seems to be out until June 3. Does anyone know if I will still have time, I have been leaving messages since last week. I even tried to call other numbers but all I get are answering machines.

Well my Ds graduated 8th grade today and he received a presidents award from George Bush, I teared up like a baby ( dont embarras me mom )

Well I am off to make dinner, if anyone has any ideas about what else I can do for my DH to make our anniversary trip special please let me know.

Sorry I can't help you with the Coral Reef problem. We are taking our first trip there in August. I love a late lunch at Le Cellier (don't know what time you are going) but I may be biased as its "home" cooking

Will DSs ever figure out their parents aren't made of money???Especially before taking a WDW trip? Probably not. My DS is half the age of yours and is already like that. Maybe I've spoiled him too much as he's an only child...

Pooksma, Welcome, and now I only have 6 days left, and so much to do

So to continue on with my insanity in planning

Ok, so Beals dept store had a sale on Crocs, , so off I go with DS and DH in tow to see what we can find

My DH has a really ugly brown, and wants black, I want to get a pair for my DS (even though he hates them ) and of course I need new ones as well Of course the only color we can find for DS is the same ugly brown his DF has , but much to my surprise he doesnt even argue about getting them. ) For me its navy blue and I couldnt help myself white. and of course nothing for DH These are the best shoes ever for walking and walking at WDW.

Now I have been trying for days..... to get in touch with the Coral Reef to make a special diver/menu request for our 15th anniversary for DH, but it just doesnt seem meant to be, cant get a return call no matter what I do
Then for some reason I decide to look at my caller ID on my land line at home and see several calls over the past few days from area code 407
So obviousy they have been calling me back but since I work I have missed every call, guess they dont want to leave a message to spoil the surprise for my dh. With only 6 days left, not sure I'm going to be able to pull this off.

All of a sudden I remember I have to stop the mail and the newspaper for the time we are away. Of course too late today, PO closes at 1200, so now I have to hope either me or DH can get there this week either before or after work before they close. ugggghhhh Nothing like planning ahead

Havent even started to pack yet, since we live in FL need most clothes for work and school, DS's last school day is Friday the 6th and we are leaving on the 7th, so I guess I will be doing laundry Friday night.

We plan on leaving at 7am on Saturday, Were only about an hour away and we want to get as much time at the world as we can and DS is a huge StarWars fan, and wants to go to HS for the SWW. I am pretty sure they wont let us into our room that early, but we can get our park tickets, etc. so we wont miss a beat.

Still waiting for DH to get me those LGMH from HD, Hes working today so maybe?

Ok, so, I have been whining to my DH how I want to stay longer then 5 nights, he keeps telling me "dont you know we are in a recession"
Nope, nothing keeps me from wanting a little more disney magic especially since we havent been in two years.

I guess he was so sick of hearing me whine, he agreed to two more days if I could get a value hotel for the same $$ as POR.
So of course I think I can, I spend all day yesterday between the WDW website, and calling reservations on the phone ( thier computer system was down almost all day). Finaly about 700 pm last night I scored

So now we are staying for 7 nights at POP instead of 5 nights at POR. I was really looking forward to staying at POR , and I am kind of nervous about POP . Please tell me I wont be disapointed at POP.

Changed the car ressie for two extra days, called the Pet Spa (pet boarding) but I call it the spa so my DH doesnt have too much anxiety about leaving his beloved pooch, to have her stay extended two more days also.

Added two more ADRS for our trip.
Boma for breakfast
Tutto Italia for dinner.

Now we just need to get thru the next five days of working . ugggghhh

I stayed at Pop in February for 2 night and I loved it and would definitely stay there again! There's pictures in my trip report if you want to look them over. If you get a refillable mug they have icees!
