Our 13 Mos. Old Twins, Easter Wk & A Night in the Castle Magical Trip LASTUPDATE 6/5

Yes, it is EMH morning at AK which means it opens at 7am:coffee: Okay, family, LET'S ROLL!!! I get the wake up call at 5:30am:eek: Isn't this suppose to be vacation??? Surprisingly, we are all ready by 6:30:thumbsup2 We decide and do something we have never done before......we DRIVE to the park. We always park our vehicle when we arrive and don't move it until we leave WDW, but we didn't want to risk waiting for a bus and not to mention us having to fold up the stroller with it loaded down with stuff was probably not going to work. Driving was actually pretty quick and easy and I'm still not believing that my family is at AK by 7am in the morning. We go through the gate and the mission was to head for Expedition (of course!) to get FP's. Everyone is running past us, I tell DH to run, too, dang it! He gets them and then we head for the jeep tour (sorry, forgot the name) you know what I'm talking about, though;) No wait, YES!!!:thumbsup2 It was wonderful, lots of animals out that early and it was still quite foggy and breath taking! Afterwards, we were in our window for our FP so DS really wanted to ride the water rapids ride. We head to get FP's for that and the keeper of the tickets (DH) comes back and tells me that he doesn't have DS's ticket!!!!!!!!! OMG, THIS IS NOT HAPPENING!!!!!!! WHERE COULD IT BE!?:sad1: He was keeping them in the little zipper compartment on the strap of the baggalini. The only hopeful answer we could come up with is that he left it at EE when getting those FP's. So, he hikes down to EE while DS and I wait. All I could think is that buying another 2 day hopper for the rest of the trip is not in the budget.
It seems like he was gone FOREVER! Oh, wait...I see his head between 1,000 other heads walking towards us. He gives me a thumbs up:thumbsup2 I was so happy I once again cried:sad1: Then we all had a group hug:grouphug: The CM had DS's ticket and 3 others!!!!!! A couple didn't have names on the back....luckily he easily claimed our DS's just by telling the CM his name.
We get the FP's and then head to EE!!!! DH went first and was back in like 10 minutes!!! Absolutely no wait he said. I then went and I have to be honest here: I like roller coasters, but could not get that EE drop out of my head and I was sort of scared of the Yeti:sad2: It did go through my mind to do a fake out:idea: Just stay in the EE store for 10 minutes. NO, I have to do this! I rode it and it was actually AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! And the Yeti was pretty cool. DS backed out of riding, but I'm not one to push. He'll be ready next trip.
It's 10:30am and I alert the crew that we need to go eat lunch. Yes, at 10:30 people! We are doing thing s the right way today (except for the lost ticket fright). We ate at the Tusker House and it was really good. Big tables to spread out and we even caught an African show right outside our window. We stayed at the park until 1pm and after 6 hours everyone was ready to go rest. It was quite hot at this point, too.

On the way to EE to get FP's, this is a stop we always make every trip

Only two more days left:sad1: Tomorrow we'll go finish up Epcot and then that leaves MGM for the last day. After this trip, MGM will always be our favorite next to MK:cheer2: Stay tuned friends:surfweb: Lots of pics of the castle suite.....REALLY!!

NOTE: We have really got a great routine going at this point in the trip with the twins! Morning nap in the stroller and afternoon nap in the room. They are never in the stroller for long periods of time since we are taking them out for the attractions. I think since we left the parks most days right after lunch this was the key to them not over doing! We still had them on their regular bed time, too.

Wow! You said it was foggy and you really meant it! Must have made EE all the more eriee and mysterious!!

Pics of kids are adorable; Ah! Good 'ole Zwiebach toast!! Brings back memories of my own when they were that age! :goodvibes

Looking forward to you-know-what.....

Kathy

I just wanted to brag a second about our DS7. He was so awesome during the trip. I was worried that he would be upset about going back to the room everyday after lunch and then NOT going back to the parks at night. He never once complained. By the last day of our trip DH and I decided that we were going to surprise him and take him to MK that night to see the fireworks, etc. Well, we ALL GOT SURPRISED THAT EVENING!!!!!!!!!!!!:wizard:

Looking forward to seeing those castle suite pictures:yay:

did people really run to EE, I thought they had CM walking everyone to the ride? I better get my running shoes out:tiptoe:

OHH MAN I was hopping to see them before I left guess Ill just have to go win a stay for my self:laughing: (in my head this guy laughs like Snoopy LOL)
Thanks for all your great posts so far! Ill be checking back when I get home from WD!

Wow a night in the castle, my dream come true. You are a brave woman taking 13 mth old twins to the world. I too am a mother of twins, boys they are 13 now. Actually wha I would not do for them to be 13 months again it was so much easier then. their first trip was when they were 9 and they have been 3 times since. Can't wait to see pics of the castle.

Christine

Oh by the way your kids are too cute.

Love the latest chapter. :thumbsup2

Those photos of the kids!! Oh my goodness - they're so beautiful!!! :goodvibes

Your DS7 sounds like a great kid. :)

Oh by the way, I did the exact same thing as your DH - left one of our park tickets in the FP dispenser at EE. Maybe it's something about the set up there. :confused3 It never happened to me anywhere else. I nearly died with fright when I realised it. :( I ran back and there it was, on top of the FP machine. :woohoo: The relief was unbelievable. Glad you got your ticket back too.

Wow, then you know the exact feeling of losing your stomach:laughing: I can laugh now, but it was pretty serious for a few minutes there. We learned our lesson.

Kathy, yes very foggy! But, what a great park to be at so early in the morning...beautiful! Zwiebach is a big hit in our house. They love it and it keeps them busy for a few minutes so I can get a little something accomplished:rotfl:

You know what will be here before you know it............

I just read everything you have so far and:thumbsup2 . I am very used to driving at three in the morning from La. I learned that trick a long time ago. Can't wait to hear the rest.

Great update!
Your babies are adorable with their teething toasts.:goodvibes

Your son sounds like a really sweet kid. I don't blame him for not wanting to ride EE...I chickened out last September and finally my husband pressured me into riding it this past January....I had my eyes closed for almost the whole ride. :rotfl:

I look forward to your next installment.:woohoo:
