Totally fell flat on the sidewalk today...tell me your graceful moments!!

Been there, done that.
Done it in sneakers. Done it on my bicycle.
Ouch!

Hope you are not too banged up. If so, know that it will take a bit before the bruises and aches feel better.

I tripped going up the stairs, landed on my shins, knees and elbows. Hope you're ok!

I was out on a run once and hit a lifted up sidewalk slab. I managed to fall onto the grass but this happened right at a really big intersection that had a red light at the time. There was a lot of honking, pointing, and laughing.

I still have a grass stain on the shirt I was wearing that day.

well...I am a bit stiff and sore today. Nothing but my camera lens broken so I guess I'm lucky!!

When I fell...it was right in front on a outdoor cafe with people out eating. No pointing and laughing, I think everyone just pretended they didn't see it! lol

Glad your not too bad - i pretend I never see people who could potentially be embarrassed by their actions.

i'm one of the culmsiest people I know so I have MANY a tale to tell of embarrassing times .... but the most dramatic fall's was back in my early teens when I forgot to put the safety pin in a set of ladders which I used to get into the loft (helping my mum who cant climb ladders), i ended up stepping on the part which should have been secured by the pin, the ladders gave way and I fell out the loft .... it didnt end there because our loft hatch was directly over the stairs, so i fell down them too, right down to the bottom where a double radiator sits - thankfully only my hand got caught which we were able to free easily - i walked away with a bruise on my knee!!!!!!! Not even a broken bone to show for it!

The most painful moment of my life was when I was very young (just under 10). I ran to get my dad an apple which was in a hanging basket next to the cooker - i climbed up on a chair not realising the handle to a pan of scoulding hot boiling water was sticking outwards - I had just got out the bath at the time and was wearing only a towel - the towel caught the handle - the pan fell and from my left hip down to my ankle got covered - needless to say I didnt sit down for weeks and during my many trips to the hospital I was reaping the benefits of my very guilty feeling parents!! Bless em!! I still have very faint scars from those burns and i'm now 32!!

OH my goodness!! Those both are quite nasty accidents. The boiling water story made me gasp!!!

I am quite accident prone. I do fall often although it had been awhile. So far I have never ended up with any major injuries, just alot of aches and pains for a few days!!

I was trying to exit the rotating door at the dolphin Saturday and thought the opening was a window and the window was an opening. So basically i missed the actual exit, then bounced off a window trying to get out, then had to go around again. Man I hate those doors

Not only have I done that, but I have also...

- Fallen down the steps dozens of times as a kid and an adult
- Fallen down the 13th hole in mini-golf LMAO
- Fallen in the mall, park, theme park, amusement park, etc.

And many, many more! Don't feel bad!

Yup, I've done that too! I was in my work clothes and scraped both my knees. Bruised my ego too since it was in the middle of the city.

I have many!

When I was about 10 I was at my cousin's wedding reception on the dance floor with my other cousins and we were all holding hands dancing in a circle when all of a sudden my feet tangled and my face hit the ground. I was knocked out and when I came back around realised my front (adult) teeth had been completely knocked out. If it wasn't for my cousins' holding my hands at the time I would have likely broken my arm(s) too.

A more recent one was last Christmas at my job, I work in retail and we share our stairs to get to the stockroom with the public as there's another store upstairs. I was walking down them one day and tripped over and fell down the stairs landing on my knees and shins. It left a massive bruise (which worryingly scared my leg :confused3) and my knees killed afterwards to the point where I couldn't bend/straighten them without being in agony.

When I was 13, my parents took me and our family friends to Spain and we stayed in a villa. One of the girls and I decided to run from our car parking spot up the road to the front door as we'd forgotten something for dinner, I tripped on a pot hole and cut my knee badly. We had to go a hospital where they spoke no English and no ones Spanish was that advanced. Went to the doctors when we got back and was told I should have had stitches. I now have 4 thick scars on my knee from this.

Thank you all for sharing your stories. I am no longer feeling so bad about my tumble on the sidewalk.
