Back in the summer I "upgraded" from a futon to a nice pseudo-platform bed from Ikea. The frame sticks out a few inches from the mattress, but I've luckily never had a problem. Until now. This morning I slammed my leg into it right at the top of my shin bone, just below my knee. I can walk on my leg, bend it and all, but it's really sore.

I'm doing ice (well, frozen fried rice) for like 10 minutes every half hour. I'm guessing I managed to bruise it, maybe the bone. I don't remember it hurting like this when I've knocked it in the same place...but then again I don't think I've knocked it similarly since I lost over 30 pounds.

Any advice besides just the icing it and resting? Luckily it's a scheduled rest day today.

Thanks!

Have you considered changing from frozen fried rice to frozen peas? Good luck with the home treatment and congratulations on the weight loss.

Either will work well.

I would take NSAIDs or Tylenol today and possibly tomorrow.
