Ottawa Flight Question

Hello All,

We're flying from Ottawa to Orlando via Detroit all with Delta. I know that US customs is cleared in Ottawa, but I just wanted to double check with someone who has done this (or a similar) flight before whether we will or won't need to collect our bags in Detroit upon transfer?

Delta has moved our departure time giving us only 51 minutes layover in Detroit.

Relax, you won't see your bags in Detroit.

Pre-clearance means that your flight won't be going in to the international arrivals section of Detroit. It'll fly in just like a domestic arrival, and your baggage will be transferred like any other connection's.
