We try to do one vacation a year, even if it's just a long weekend, to explore our home state. Michigan has so much natural beauty and so many outdoor activities. There's lots to see and do for families. We've gone all over the state in the last few years. It's great to get to know your own state a bit better. Usually we go camping but I'm so done with the tent. I want a camper. We'll probably buy one next spring. Then there's no stopping us!
Then we also have our bigger vacations where we travel out of state. We can't do it every year but we sure love it when we go. We've been to the Smokey Mountains, Disney, Chicago (which is much more kid friendly than I thought it would be!), Ohio, and Kentucky. I'm dying to go to the Black Hills, SD to see Mount Rushmore. And D.C.! Both are high on my list after this next Disney trip.
