inspired by Richards what to tip thread..
I was going to take a few small gifts to give any special CMs who make the magic. Apart from the regular tipping, I was thinking about giving a small gift to, say, the CM who checks us in, a special mousekeeper who goes out of their way, a Cm in the park who is particularly fun or helpful. I was thinking about taking a few small boxes of cornish fudge. Does anyone have any other ideas?

That's a lovely idea, Carol, and one I may copy if you don't mind.

What a nice thought :)

There are CM positions who are unable to accept tips (cash anyway, not sure about the gift version), but there are cards you can fill in with details of CMs who you think deserve recognition for spreading some extra magic. I think Disney then acknowledges this in some way - like an 'employee of the month' kind of thing :) )

I've never seen the cards displayed anywhere (or actually used one), but I would think Guest Services could help you locate them.

Don't mind at all Gill, I just thought after last year when so many cMs went out of their way for us for little things that if I had been carrying wee presents I'd have liked to have given them something, like the CM who got us front of the monorail, the CMs in MGM at a counter service restaurant who gave us loads of extra desserts for having to wait 'ages' (actually about 10 minutes!) These are the CMs who aren't in the general 'tipping' category but who still gave us magic.
I was just after a few ideas of little extras that would be easy to carry around. the fudge boxes came to mind, they'd obviously have to be small but what else? :confused3

Great idea, Carol!!

Another nice idea are these Cast Member Appreciation Cards *from Tagrel- just download the template, personalise the message, and print it on to card stock.. I thought it would be nice to give a thank you pin, or something, but the ones from What Would Walt Do? don't have a specific message on..

* this link doesn't seem to work- PM me if you want the actual link ;)

Wow! Cocinelle, that What would Walt do site is great, what a lovely idea, thanks so much, the pins and magnets would be easy to carry around, last year we had a lot of fun and jokes with one of the security guys, I just thought, they're overlooked cos everyones rushing to get into the park, it would be nice to show some appreciation to these type of cast members

Hiya, I also think it is a great idea to give a little thank-you to anyone who made your day special. I am going to take some 'flag' pins with me. If you hunt around (got mine from ebay) you can get bulk buy ones. I am going to take Saltires but you can also get friendship pins which have the USA and UK flags on the same pin. Thought they would be nice too.
