Other things to do in Orlando

We are planning on going to Disney in March. Originally we were going to go March 12-18 with Disney being 13-17. Now, we are going to be staying longer and want to do other things. Couple of things we are going to do is Busch Gardens and Kennedy Space Center. What else can we do? I am thinking we will leave either the 21st or 23rd depending on what we do. Thanks in advance for any help!

disney has a wild life preserve type area about an hr away. it's run by nature conservatory and i of course can not remember the actual name of the place. i think they have swamp buggy type rides at least part of the year and from what i remember reading it was reasonable. we planned on going but of course never made it since once we get to wdw we are stuck like glue there( our own fault for having too much fun). maybe someone here can help with the name or i think i found info under nature conservatory on the web. don't knw where you are from but it looks like a change of pace from tourist land FL

I don't know the age of your party or what kind of experiences they are into, but I think (I apologize in advance) that Islands of Adventure at Universal is the best "ride" park in Orlando. If you enjoy thrill rides, roller coasters and the latest technology it is a must see. The atmosphere is not quite the same as Disney but the rides make up for it.

We might go to universal again. We went in March and I didn't like it at all. I don't like to ride rides at all. Well Roller Coasters anyways.. Thanks for the ideas. Keep them coming!

There are several websites you can use to check out the area. One for Kissimmee-- www.floridakiss.com Orlando-- www.orlandoinfo.com, and even a "Visit Florida" one---- www.flausa.com

happy hunting, there are a lot of things to do in the area, some are very nice, some are IMO, tourist traps.

Our family always takes a day out to go to Sea World. Since SW is more shows than rides, it can be very relaxing. The are lots of ways to interact with the animals, too. We always hit the feedings and feed the dolphins, ray, stc. It's a lot of fun. It's also not an entire day. We get there when it opens and are done around 3pm. This way, we go back to the hotel, swim and have a nice dinner.

I second the suggestion for SW! It's one of our favorite places in Orlando... we love all the shows... shamu, porpoises, pets, skiing, etc. Great interactive exhibits, too. You can even rent pedal boats to go around the lake if you want!
