We don't usually make any--- dh doesn't like the commitment. Then again it's usually only our family of 3 and we'll go at really off times and don't usually have much of a problem.

Well for our next trip there will be 8 of us. We want to eat one nice sit down meals most days. We are in the process of finalizing our lists of possibilities.

Anyway, we aren't even attempting the castle. So, I am wondering is there any other places for lunch or dinner that may be really hard to get. Not looking for anything like Illuminations viewing, or firework views. Actually we'll probably be making mostly lunch arrangements. I was hoping to make only one call and wait until we are within range for everyday of our trip.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi - the illuminations cruise is hard to snag, especially Breathless.

Food wise maybe V & A at the GF?

I think the restaurant in the Living Seas (Coral Reef) is usually quite busy. If you were thinking about this one, it might be wise to grab a PS.

The dinner shows are important to book (Hoop DeeDoo and Luau).

I know what your DH means. I always make PS's, but I don't mind canceling them, and won't kill myself getting to PS's I've made anymore. But I still feel safer with that PS!!!!!!!

I also think the Epcot Princess breakfast is getting hard

I just got off the phone making all our ps's for our August trip and couldn't get our preferred time for dinner at 50's Prime Time, so that may be one you'd want to do at the 60 day mark. (I was at 58 days:rolleyes: )

Most all character meals can fill up fast. Breakfastsarus is getting hard to get. Anytime your group is large it can be harder to get a PS. I think I would call at 120 days out for the ones that are open at that time and then again at 60 days out.

I also had a hard time for Primetime and we are a party of 5. I also had (and I am still having) a hard time getting a table at AK Rainforest Cafe for a party of 5 at the same table. The Fantasmic! dinner packages seem to go fast too. I finally did get the time I wanted at Primetime.

That reminds me...think I'll call for Rainforest Cafe again!!

Thank you-- I am thinking of trying to get the Primetime Cafe and now they all decided on Chef Mickey's for our arrival night-- so I guess I'll just have to make multiple calls.

I just had a hard time getting a breakfast PS at Chef Mickey's. I called 118 days out and was offered these two times for our table of two- 6:30 or 8:45. I was waiting for her to go on and then I said "That's it???" I took the 8:45, but will try for another time once we are there..we were hoping to be at the MK in line at 8:45!! I just found this funny because for our last trip I made all our PS's on the exact first day you could call, and my DH, Mom and Dad all kind of made fun of me for it----so I thought I wouldn't be quite so anal this time and now we may not go to CM's...oh well. :(

Are you making the AK Rainforest Cafe reservation through Disney Dining? They told me they can't take reservations for that restaurant.

Hmmm, This morning I just made a lunch reservation at AK Rainforest Cafe for our August trip. I have about 7 weeks to go!!!

Any character meal can be hard to get at "preferred times" as is the Fantasmic dinner package. If you have an idea of what you want to do and what park you will be visiting I would go ahead and call for a few PS's. This way you will have the option of going, we find we always want the break! If you don't end up using them just call can cancel so they will open up the seats to walk in reservations.

If you don't mind queing for fast food or eating at off times than you won't need ps for sit down places. It also depends on when your traveling. With a party of 8 I would do at least one Ps every other day with varying meals, perhaps one of each for b/l/d.

Have Fun
TJ

I also have a PS for the Rainforest Cafe at the AK and I made it through Disney Dining just last week. The only restaurant that I had difficulty getting a PS for was Mama Melroses.
