What are some good ones you like to go to. I like a place where good discussions go on, but not where people get easily offended.

that last one is a tall order .... i find no matter where you go, and how innocent your opinion/response, SOMEONE will jump all over you for it.

but other than the Dis, i hang out at Snopes message boards which is also great source of information as well.

AVS forums for technology issue and interests. and thats about it.

I moderate on the spouse message boards at military dot com-lots of good deployment info and support but emotions can run high.
also hit cruisecritic to get and share info.
and AKO-which is a limited access board for the army.

I like QVC's community boards, the discuss everything, and the people are very friendly. HSN has a nice community board. I have been to ivillage boards and for travel I love www.tripadvisor.com. There is also www.intercot.com water cooler forum. Give them a try. If your interested in film, actors and tv shows try imbd.com

I love the dive, so I'm pretty active on the site under a different name. There is a community board, which has some pretty interesting characters... It's a lot less "tame" than it can be here.

It's a website where they post the latest Hollywood Rumors, but don't post the name, so everyone gets to try and guess who they are.

Also, www.mydeathspace.com which has lots of up to date info on missing people, murders, the trials etc...

I enjoy dvdtalk.com. It's a less easily offended crowd than here (lots of IT guys posting from work), you can talk about religion and politics and swear if you want, etc.

I prefer to seek out message boards that are even more heavily moderated than the DIS.. I read enough of the arguing; taking pot shots at people just for the heck of it; passive-aggressive comments; rudeness; and whatever right here.. I'm sure not going to look for more of it elsewhere - LOL!!

Of course there are some great posters here on the DIS as well.. I just ignore the others to the best of my ability..

Love AVS. Though sometimes people on that site love TV a bit to much. "Oh man! Did you see that .2 seconds of microblocking during 'xxx'? Totally ruined my TV watching!"

It's another music site (everything), their forums really aren't moderated--the general discussion at least. They do offer a political board. I pop in there sometimes, I usually don't get in those discussions. I enjoy the articles and the debate from all sides. It usually leads to me research a bit and become more informed.
