Other message boards

that last one is a tall order .... i find no matter where you go, and how innocent your opinion/response, SOMEONE will jump all over you for it.

but other than the Dis, i hang out at Snopes message boards which is also great source of information as well.

AVS forums for technology issue and interests. and thats about it.

Intresting that you mentioned the Snopes boards. I was recently trying to find info about a certain topic an the search engine brought that one up. I found it very interesting and I think I will be checking back in with that one.

This one states you need invite.

I don't think you need an invite, I think you just have to enter the info for i.d. and password. You can't 'read only' on the site. You are required to have an i.d. and password to read, and participate if you want. I never had an invitation to join.

What are some good ones you like to go to. I like a place where good discussions go on, but not where people get easily offended.

I've tried looking before but kept coming back to this forum on the DIS, even though this place is lacking for me also.

I think you'll have to actually type in the address in your address bar though, instead of clicking the link... I believe it's been censored by the DIS.. :rolleyes1

Oh! I didn't know that. Interesting.

I've recently signed up for the BBC America forums and am currently part of the Doctor Who forum.

I had signed up for another Doctor Who message board that uses vBulletin as here, but they don't run it the same (meaning certain features available on here are not over there -ex. their smiley tray hardly has anything in it).

I was wrong. There's a place to register, but it may seem a bit over the top there.

If you decide you want to join, let me know and I can give you the link to register. They said that NOW you DO need an invitation to join. And you are right, it can be very much over the top sometimes, but the topics discussed are very interesting.

I enjoy the message boards at:

mommysavers.com
creditboards.com
intercot.com
frugalvillage.com
city-data.com

I'm a member of Modern Saddlebred, a forum for Saddlebred enthusiasts. It's a VERY small forum (under 200 active members) and we are all close-knit. If you're a horse fan, I would suggest checking it out. However, I do believe that joining must be done by invitation only, although that may have changed.

I post on the Philadelphia Eagles message board, but we talk about the Eagles.

I also post on Fark.com, but I'm not sure I'd call that a "message board".

I second the city forums site. At first I went on to see what people were posting about Fort Worth (mainly questions about moving, schools, etc) then started looking around and saw that they have general threads about entertainment (various categories), health, politics, et al.

Who is Rich and why is the DIS disabling something from him?

collegeconfidential.com It has many different forums regarding college prep (AP tests, SAT/ACT) college search and selection, individual colleges, different majors and even a parents' forum and parents' cafe that has a sub-forum called election and politics. Those here looking for a good political debate may find what they are looking for there. For me, I am far too afraid to enter :lmao: !

Wow! I never knew that area existed. Thanks so much.
