I love that I found this forum (after years of being on the DIS) but I am wondering if any of you frequent any other camping forums/message boards that are more general. We like to camp all over, and I'd love to find an online community that works for that.

Thanks!

the reason many of us post here only,is because we've been booted from too many other boards, this is the only one that will take us.

I'm on rv.net and irv2.com for general camping, then the tabtrailers yahoo group for T@B specific stuff, and Tearjerkers.net for Teardrop and Tiny Travel Trailer gatherings.

I mostly lurk at popupexplorer & tearjerkers  kind of like I mostly lurk here. I have neither a tear nor a pop-up and I haven't camped at the Ft. in a really long time which is why I'm mostly just a lurker. I tent and dream of having a tear or a pop-up and camping at the Ft. again though.:goodvibes

That is so darn cute!

This is my only forum. I am hopelessly devoted to you guys ;)

Thanks....It's my yahoo name. :goodvibes I'm Lil'Darlin and my hubby is Big Daddy. We used those as our bowling names too on the really bad bowling league we were on a few years ago. :headache: I also use it on the other message boards I visit. Back when I joined this board it was just to get a little info so I just used my name. I had NO IDEA I would be sucked in and unable to escape :surfweb:

At this point I don't want to switch and start all over again.

I use rv.net, too. But there seems to be a awful lot of FW and WDW bashers over there. Don't you think, Shannone1? I've seen many of your posts over there.

For rvpark reviews I like http://rvparkreviews.com. For general RV stuff http://rv.net. I don't know about bashing FW on RV.net. Some things I have said might be considered "bashing", but I speak only my opinion. There are some nice RV parks out there, just do a little research. Good luck.

I'm on an AT board and Adirondack board -- don't remember the sites because they're book marked at home and I limit myself to one board at work! :lmao:

www.campercommunity.com/forum looks neat though. I think I'll register for this one.... Thanks kiteri

One thing I have noticed with RV.Net is that people don't form any real relationships (other than maybe the rally groups). People just post a few times and disappear. Here I feel like I am posting with my friends :goodvibes I think some of the bad vibes there come because people will pop in with a question(one that is asked on a weekly basis) and then get upset when people suggest they use the search forum (which works really well on that site). There are also a lot of retiree's who are past the stage of camping with their kids and they don't respond to as many posts from people around my age. The family camping forum is really slow, unfortunately.

Don't get me wrong...there ARE some great people on that site...there are just soooo many posters that it takes awhile to find them. ;)

A really GOOD forum(like this one) requires really GREAT people(like you). Its gotta house the right mix of intelligence with just a touch of politeness(politeness can easily be overdone), and the most important ingredient is humor...and ya'll are the funniest lookin people on the internet!!!

I've been on rv.net for about 4 years now. I agree, to a certain extent it seems that the folks on rv.net like to bash those of us that love The Fort.

I couldn't agree more. That's why I like it here, we can talk about The Fort, camping at The Fort and just have a good, fun time.

Hey, I resemble that remark. I'm also a member of the follically challenged club. I don't know if I spelled that correctly, let's just call it "The Hairless Club for Men".
