I'm considering becoming a DVC member and I'm wondering about what other benefits come with membership. What kinds of discounts on passes, etc. I would appreciate any information anyone might have.

The only pass discount is for the lenght of stay pass. We find this isn't enough to consider it, so we usually buy annual passes and plan our trips just under 12 months apart.

There are usually discounts on several restautrants in WDW and sometimes at some of the shopes. There is usually a mini golf discount as well. The real perk is having a vacation home to go back to time after time that just happens to be located in the heart of Disney World!

We get discounts at several restaurants -- 10% at Cape May Cafe, lunch at Fulton's, maybe Yacht Club Galley, a few other restaurants at Downtown Disney, and 20% at the Dolphin and Swan restaurants. We get a few dollars off at the Waterparks, DisneyQuest and mini-golf. When the Spa at Saratoga Springs reopens we'll get a 20% discount, as well as 30% on a select treatment each month. We also get discounts or "free gifts", like a chocolate bar if you spend $10 at Ghirardellis, at some of the shops in the marketplace.

The discounts change from time to time -- Cape May Cafe is a new addition -- and are always printed in your welcome material when you check-in.

Here's a link from WDWIG with information on the additional discounts that DVC membership currently includes:

WDW Discounts

You'll have to read closely as the page also includes other program discounts.

Keep in mind that these discounts and perks are NOT guaranteed and are NOT part of your vacation club contract. They can and do change on a regular basis. For that reason, it is best not to give them much (if any) consideration when making your DVC purchase decision. I like to think of them as "gravy".

Good luck with your decision.

I know you can buy an annual golf pass-that's what sold DH. It costs about $90, and with it you can tee off after 10:00 am for a discount, varies at different times of the year. I know that in June it's $35, less than the price-slice special offered by WDW, so if you golf enough, it definitely pays (that's the excuse DH gives for golfing so much-"gotta get my money's worth!")
