I run a small daycare from my home. Its a lot of fun but so far have only had 1 daycare kid at a time. I had 2 for a week but then the lady never showed up the next week. I didn't expect it because she left her son's blankets.

Anyway for a long time now I've been trying to get up an extra $52 for my states fingerprinting program so a referral system would list my daycare. It listed now which means I should get more calls now.

We really need the income and the increased income will help me sooo much in my weight loss efforts since I'll have better grocery budget and might possibly be able to get a gym membership.

CONGRATS! A good referral system is worth its weight in gold.

I started out exactly as you, watching 1 or 2 children in addition to my own son. Almost 7 years later I now own a small daycare center (built onto my existing home but with a total separation of space--long hallway connects my house and the addition) with a few employees and lots of time to enjoy my life. Boy how things have changed! I went from a CFP (certified financial planner) to a daycare operator and wouldn't change it for the world, lol!
