OT - Windermere FL

I was going to post this on the community board but they have bigger fish to fry down there.

Does anyone live or know anyone that lives in Windermere FL? A friend of mine is relocating and looking at options and knows nothing of that area. I told her to buy a home in Celebration but her DH isn't a Disney type of guy. shame...

Anyway, I looked around and it appears the statistics on schools look ok, and the crime rate doesn't look too too bad, but I was wondering if anyone has first hand knowledge of the feel of the area. That area of Florida is just so vast, and unless you visit you can't get the total package.

I live in Windermere. I've lived here three years and I love the area. The area has a lot of new homes. Some are very upscale. Most of the homes in the area begin in the 400k and up area. There are townhomes in the 200k and up.

The area is really starting to build up. When I first moved in, the nearest grocery store was a 15 minute drive. There is now a Publix about 5 minutes away. The closest gas station is still 10 minutes away. DTD is about 10 minutes from my house.

A brand new middle school will be opening next fall. They will be breaking ground on a new elementary school soon. Depending on what part of Windermere you are in, the high school would be Olympia or West Orange. They are in the process of building a new building for West Orange.
