We received a flyer in the mail about a new waterpark/resort in sevierville tn, and was wondering if anyone had heard of it, or was planning to go? It looks like the grand opening is this weekend....
We were thinking about going down for a couple nights to enjoy the waterpark, and hit the outlets. Any opinions??????:confused3
TIA

It is about 5 miles from my house. It looks like it will have similarites to the Wilderness Lodge at WDW. (not as nice but the same theming). When we drove past it today my DD mentioned she didn't think they would be done by opening as there is still A LOT of construction going on. Maybe the main part and the pool area are done though? Hard to tell how it will be-I hope it is great as it would be a great alternative to going to Splash Country since it (WIS) is literally about 5 minutes or so from my house. I am hoping they will offer some sort of season pass for locals to purchase.

We are going in August. They have a "Grand Opening Special" since the indoor waterpark isn't open yet, but the outdoor waterpark will be. Hopefully it will be fun!

We're going the middle of July. I can't wait to check it out. The resort looks amazing.

There is a sister resort to this one at the Wisconsin Dells. By the looks of the pics on the website, they are virtually identical in design. The one at the Dells is very popular. I haven't personally stayed there, but I have friends who love it and go there all the time. I have driven by that one many times and it looks really nice.

We are about an hour from there and have stayed there before. We LOVE it!!!!!

Great weekend get away. Take bottled water, the water taste a little funny.

and request top floor...it can be VERY noisy...there are tile floors and you hear everything from above you.

We went over one of our school's spring breaks for 3 nights. It was a lot of fun. We did the indoor water park. It's relatively small (2 slides, 2 kiddie sections, a wave pool, a surf simulator, and a family tube ride), but my kids loved it. The fun thing to us was that you could go for an hour or two, then come back to your room or go into Pigeon Forge, then go back to the water park if you wanted. It was open from pretty early in the morning to pretty late at night, and an hour or two at a time was really as much as we wanted (it wasn't at all crowded when we went).

As for the resort, it was really pretty and rustic looking, but of course new and not at all "roughging it".
