Hi, we are staying at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge in July and we are flying Southwest. How are people printing their boarding passes 24 hours before departure? Thanks in advance.:wizard:

Go to the Concierge Desk they will be happy to print them for you.

I just did it in February. I went 24 hours before the flight (give or take
5 minutes) and got Group A seats 35,36, 37, & 38.

I check in using my web-enabled cell phone, then print the pass at either Guest Services or at the airport, at the kiosk where I check my luggage.

Thanks. Do they charge for the service? Also, what is Group A tickets?

No, they don't charge to print out the boarding passes.

Southwest now boards by Group and number. For example, if
your Boarding Pass is A 35, then you are the 35th person to board
the plane. If you have C 40, then you are almost the last person
to board the plane. Obviously, the earlier you get on the plane the
better your seat selection.

Now I am confused, you actually don't get an assigned seat? Do you actually mean you board the plane and find seats yourself? I have never flown Southwest before. Wow, if that the case, that could be interesting.

That's correct - there are no assigned seats - you get to pick your own! If you are in Group A you will get your preference in seats. Group B usually get's their preference depending on how the other occupants end up boarding. Group C's get the last choice and that is almost always the middle seats. It actually goes pretty smoothly.

As you can read, checking in close to the 24-hour mark is a good idea. If you don't want to be hanging out at the Concierge Desk at just the right time, you can have a friend from home check in for you, then do the actual priting of boarding passes later.

My 6-year old son is autistic. Do they give priority to special needs? Now, what if I get Group C tickets but have a special needs son?

Really? Cool.

But we do curbside checkin. so I'd have to HAVE the boarding pass in hand at that point, right? So I'm thinking the kiosk won't work, but the Guest Services would. :thumbsup2

You will have to check with an agent at either the main check-in counter or at the gate. They will probably allow you to 'pre-board' before any other passengers.

You should be able to get a "pre-boarding pass" as previously mentioned. Regardless of what boarding group you're in you'll be allowed to board the plane before the other passengers. Keep in mind that there will be others pre-boarding as well: families with small children (under 4, I think) and adults needing assistance (elderly/frail, wheelchair-bound, etc) also unaccompanied minors. To put your mind at ease, I would recommend calling SWA before you go to find out how to go about getting a pre-boarding pass for your son.

1) Family's with children under 4 are no longer included with special assistance. They now board after the A's, but before the B's.

2) If all you need is to be sure to sit together, check in near the 24-hour mark and you won't have a problem (and you'll always have the special assistance option as a backup.)
