OT - Weather atm DLP -Extreme freezing night 24/01 ongoing

Snow stopped around 17.30. Still very cold 0 feels like -4 and they say it cold snow again in the late evening/early hours. Plus tomorrow in the day before becoming a mix of rain and snow and then possibly just snow again

OH has gone to work and although the Autoroute was cleared the other roads were nighmarish. He works near CDG and they have 20cm of snow on their parking places and courtyard

All lorries over 3.5t are not allowed to be on the roads in the Ile de France region from 4.00 am -10.00 am tomorrow.

Be careful if you are on the roads tonight and tomorrow :goodvibes

We would be stuffed with that temporary ban as our ambulances weigh 5.5t!

Wow...that was a very cold and snowy trip to dlp! Didn't stop the hoardes of visitors though
6 hour delay on euro star last night didn't help either but kids still had great time which is main thing.
Will post report later

Please do post reports hazel - especially best things to do in the bad weather. We are supposed to be going Friday - if the Eurostar ok! Did you have to stay on Eurostar for 6 hours or were you stuck at the station?

Hi Carrie, any word on what the weathers doing in the morning?

Carrie, just back from DLP and a big thanks for the weather update,as on the basis of that i bought extra thermal socks, hand warmers, etc and survived the snow with happy children, even though the flight home was cancelled for a day!!

:flower3: Glad you had a great time even though it was chilly :goodvibes

Would love to hear more about it when you have time

Well our "wonderful" snow finally all disappeared yesterday and we had "balmy" :rotfl:temperatures (1-3°) the past two days - even turned the heating off at night

Today started off around 1° and gradually slid down to -7° with feel likes of -11° late afternoon.

Now at 23.30 it's -6° feels like -10° and will continue descending during the night to -7° feels like -9° which will be the temperature also tomorrow morning at 8.00 for the brave souls who venture out for EMH :scared1:

It will creep back up to -2° feels like - 2° around 14.00 before sliding back down slowly in the pm reaching -4° feels like -8° around 19.00 where it will stay like that until the early hours of Saturday

If Saturday stays as planned it will be another very chilly day until at least lunch time when the temperature is supposed to be positive

Will update :goodvibes

Well today has been like I said in previous post - Very cold but dry - wind chill at DLP is fab as usual :rolleyes2

Right now it's -4° feels like -9° at 23.00

Snow showers are on the cards for tomorrow am - I should get them from around 3.00 am and DLP around 6.00 am if they happen

Good thing is that it will get warmer if it snows a bit but it will still feel like negative temperatures all day even whe it gets up to 3° in the pm.

They are forecasting rain for Sunday with real and feel like positive temperatures so I'll wait and see.

I think this cold spell is nearly behind us :cool1:

How I wish it would be -9 here, and -3 sounds like a dream. Right now we're having -17 and today it was around -12 almost all day.
I think I might be brave enough to do a Christmas DLP trip.

But you are used to it and prepared .. here it's the same old pbs every year with the roads, rail, airports etc etc

I don't mind the cold, I prefer it, as you can always put on another layer but I dislike the fact that they don't prepare for it properly.

ps - Would love to see some photos if you have snow :goodvibes

pps - You should come the either early December before the 15th or 1st week in January - less people and you see the Christmas decorations still

Oh we do have snow, lots lots lots of it. Care to have some? DS1 didn't go two school due to the cold, because it was -20 in the mornings. I'll take some photos tomorow for you. I'm tired of snow and cold. To tell the truth I always thought it's all the same at DLP and wondered how people can enjoy rides at -15! Brave ones.

These are photos not from today, will upload those later.
This is my family taking dogs for a walk.

Carrie_Cat, there you go, taken today just for you :grouphug:

Icy river and shores. River is basically frozen. It's not moving, but doubt if it's safe to walk. But you can do that on lakes.

So, we have snowy, cold winter.

Well, it's beautiful! :) I thought the (older) buildings looked exotic. We're hoping to visit Estonia next year, wonder if that will be similar? Probably best choose the summer months!
Thanks for posting all the pictures. :flower3:

Yes, it's the best for the summer visit and weather should very similar to ours. It's a very beautiful country to visit. Been there few times.
