I hate our hose. We bought it at Camping World, so it's not a Big Lots or Dollar General closeout, but it's full of kinks. My question is does anyone use those "coil" type hoses or the flat ones? What are your thoughts?

Are we talking fresh water hose, or sewer hose? We have a white one for our fresh water that is like a garden hose but its made for trailers, it sometimes gets kinky (lol), but it does the job :) We were given this flush king thing to go on our sewer hose to wash it out after you empty the lines and although it is so gross because there is a part that's clear, it makes us feel better that it cleans out the tank and hose after we empty it.

Sorry-fresh water. We have a white garden-style. I'm always fighting with those kinks.

we have one of those too, i try not to look at it when we are dumping out...ewww

Thats the type we have too. They are annoying but the alternative is pretty pricey. I want to get one of the coil ones too, but we just bought our TT last year and after buying all the stuff you need to, I wasn't willing to spend much more :) Maybe this year though. Do you know how much the coil ones go for?

I have 3 fresh water hoses 1 x 5', 1 x 10' and 1 x 25'. I only use as much as it takes to reach. At FW most of the time all I need is the 5'er. However, if I have to I can reach 40'. When you coil them up to store away always stretch them all the way out strait so the end can turn over as you coil it up.

I got tired of messing with those "kinky thingies" (that was for you Deb ;)), so the last time we went to CW, we bought a roll up white hose, it is 25' I think, and cost about $15. It works fine, and takes up a lot less space. The only problem I have had with it, is that it "kinks" when it is under pressure, you have to make sure it is layed out straight.

I found mine kinks more when it's cool/cold. What I do when I'm packing up is disconnect the hose, drain it, and hook the two ends together, then I lay it in the floor of the camper with the heat on high and let it warm up. After it's warmed up a bit, then I pull it back out, let it drain some more, and it rolls up really nicely.

I had one of the coil up hoses when we had our pop-up. It was nice because it was compact. I found that they don't last as long as a regular hose. The heat from storage deteriorates them faster and they end up looking like a soaker hose after a while.
