The Just For Fun forum has a lot of general areas such as the Community Board:

There’s also the Coping and Compassion Board. The Disney for Families Board under the WDW forum is also a really nice board.

Also I in NO WAY mean to imply that people aren’t being polite here or on any DIS thread I’ve read. In fact, I decided to ask here because everyone is always so nice!

I think you'll like the Just for Fun forum. Look into the Community Board there -- skip the obviously "thin ice" threads and join the fun conversations. There are some very nice people there. Maybe try starting with this thread: Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse Question of the day 6/4: What is the best advice for new college graduate? That one is very safe, super nice people there, good conversation on all kinds of topics, and DISers deliberately trying to play nice and to cheer each other on.

Don't forget politics. Must discuss politics. The more divisive, the better. Also, don't forget to post unsubstantiated rumors without any sources. Don't forget to use periods and exclamation points to get around the profanity filter.

And whatever you do...do NOT forget to turn turn on CAPS LOCK. It's a quick way for the mods to know that they don't have to do any moderation whatsoever and that you're a seasoned veteran of these forums.
