OT: Tag Reading System

We have one and i love it and so does my daughter... she is 5... there is a lot of learning activites... and tons of fun... and its not bad for moms either I can help her and it is not overly annoyting... LOL... we picked ours up at Toys R Us

i hope it is good as that is what my 3 year old is getting for christmas lol. I actually got it right before last christmas on sale for 40% off so awsome. I also got him a extra book on sale but still looking for a case.

Don't do the Poingo Reading System. Not impressed.
It doesn't let you read each word in the paragraph. When you click on the paragraph, it just starts reading it. I would like it more if it would read each word individually. I think she would get alot more out of it.

My girls love their tag readers. We can read together or they just sit with the books reading. They have the option of having the reader read the whole book, just the page or just a word they point to.
There are games on some pages. Some are fun, some test reading (listening) comprhension.

The only problem we have is you have to download the book onto the tag reader. My girls each have 4 books (not couting the book it came with), and if they want to switch books, they have to switch tag readers (we have a pink and a white tag reader). Both girls have the storage cases which is great for cleaning it up.

We love ours. I just bought my nephew one for his birthday. I think they have come out with a new one that can hold up to 10 books, so you may look for that one. Ours only holds 6.

We ended up buying 2 tag readers because we were so frustrated that they only held a few books. I'm so glad they are coming out with a better version. I wish they sold memory sticks though, since we already have 2 of the old ones.

We've had ours for almost a year and they work great!

I agree that they don't hold enough books! I even contacted Leapfrog about it!

DD3.5 really enjoys her Tag. It's not something she plays with every day, but at least once a week she has it out "reading." For her, that's high praise!

There is an orange tag out there that is designed for school use. It holds 25 books at a time. I bought ours at leapfrogschoolhouse.com. It was more expensive ($70 + shipping), but it does come with a really nice set of headphones (and it holds 25 books at a time). There was a lag time between when new release books appear in the store and when they are available on orange Tag (maybe a month or so), but it hasn't been a problem. There are also some phonics books and English as a Second Language books that are only available for use with the orange tag.

Here is a link to it:

You do not need to be a school or teacher to purchase from them.
