I had this great idea to surprise my dh with a trip to Chicago including tickets to his favorite team-the Cubs! Interestingly enough that is what a lot of other people do on Fathers Days also!!
I really want to pull this off, but I'm not really baseball saavy, and I have no idea what I'm doing!! Here are my issues:
1. For all you Wrigley Field enthusiasts out there, where should we sit, and not pay too much? I saw tickets on ebay for $1,250.00 and I think that is a tiny bit out of our price range!
I printed out a "map" of the field but you never know how it is until you get there ( maybe behind a pole!) I am the type who would get "taken" on this sort of thing! I think $200 -MAYBE $300 would be more like it.
2. I want to take the Amtrak train up, and I'm not familiar with it at all. Do they have better deals last minute or farther away? They have kids 1/2 price, but it looks like that's standard. We can drive up but I think it would be neat to take the train, we have never done that before.
I am willing to pay $ for this but I don't want to have to work overtime for the rest of the year to PAY for it!!
My dh is a great husband and father and this would be a tremendous surprise, so hopefully with your help I can find decent tickets, and get it all together!
TIA
