Can anyone recommend a campground near Storyland?

I have stayed at Glen Ellis a few years ago and it was nice.
I was thinking of staying at Green Meadow since it's right across the street from Storyland - but I have no idea if that one is good or not. We will have a 4 & 5 year old with us, so some activities would be a plus.

I guess I am just leary after staying at Ft. Jefferson at Six Gun City last year! :scared1:

I hope I am not posting this too late for your trip.

I have never stayed at a campground near StoryLand, we always stay at Roger's Campground in Lancaster. We thought about staying at Lantern Inn/Campground, but they looked packed right in there. We get set up at the campground, do Santa's Village the next day, go back to the camper, do StoryLand the next day(it's about an hours drive) then back to the camper and spend the next day at the campground and then go home the next. We take Rt. 2 all the way back though, so it is easier for us to leave from Jefferson then Conway. You could stay at Roger's, do Santa's Village, stay at the campground that night and then pack up go to StoryLand with the camper(depending how large it is I guess), then go home from there.

Friends of ours have stayed a couple of times at Green Meadows and liked it. I think that is the one that has a path right to StoryLand. Hey, we are going to be at Roger's Aug.6-10(hopefully) We are doing Santa's Village. How did you like Six Gun City-the park, not the campground? Was it worth going?

This is our site at Roger's.

I am an "official deputy" at Six Gun City. Got my badge there when I was like 8 years old. I even got to drive the stage coach! :thumbsup2

So where did you end up staying? We are going to camp for our Storyland trip this year... I've camped at Glen Ellis as well - many years ago - but am curious about Green Meadow.

I have heard decent things about Green Meadows. I have never personally stayed there. However, this past summer we did try the Lantern Campground I had spoke about in a previous post. We loved it and will be returning in June. It isn't a huge campground, but the people were very friendly, they have a little store, and activities for the kids. We had a great time here.

It's about an hour from Story Land, but you could take in Santa's Village one day and do Story Land another. That's what we usually do, the drive to Story Land really isn't that bad. Both places are fun.

Another nice campground in the North Conway area. Right down the road from Storyland. It's not nearly as big as Glen Ellis, but has some very scenic sites along the river.:thumbsup2

I know this thread is a few years old but I am looking for a cabin with bathroom to rent near Storyland that accepts dogs and is around $100 per night.

Thank you!

Saco River Campground is really nice as well. That is usually where we stay when we're on the North Conway side. Storyland is SO much fun for the kids! Have fun!

I booked a cabin at the Twin Mountain KOA and am super excited to take my son to Storyland!

the lantern (one across from Santa's Village) used to rent campers (38') 2 bedrooms for around that price but it's been a few years now since anyone i know of has stayed there. I'm sure they have a web site I just can't find it at the moment..... The boys LOVED that campground!
