OT: Six Flags great adventure in NJ?

On our off-disney vacations, we have been to Busch Gardens Williamsburg a few times, and we love it. It's like a little disney for me(just much cheaper). It's beautiful there, always clean, well themed, great rides, and generally the other guest are fine, maybe it has something to do with where it is. We go for a week, park passes, water park passes and motel usually run around $800-$900, so much better than places like Six flags, and not that far from home.

We went to the water park with our 3 and it was a complete disappointment. Our two youngest were 2 short to do any of the slides there. We ended up spending most of the day in the lazy river or kiddie pool. We would have had more fun at home in our own pool. If you are planning to go, find out ahead of time the height requirements, your 4 yr old may not get to do alot there.

It's all been said by now ,but I'll throw my 2 cents in as well. GA has a really nice kiddie area and you will avoid most of the teen crowds in that area. However, that is quite a price to pay for what is essentially a giant playground.

And don't even think about Sesame Place. It is a terrible waste of a great idea. The park is poorly run and a complete disaster.

I'm leaning more on going to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, instead of any Six Flags park. Last summer, we went to Busch Gardens Tampa, and we really enjoyed it. We didn't experience any of the misbehaviour and rudeness that is prevelant at Six Flags parks. The last time I went to Busch Gardens "The Old Country" was back in the late 80's. It was a nice theme park back then.

I just have to comment not to make a special trip to Six Flags America (near Baltimore). We live very close and do have season tickets (just for the water park - cheaper than belonging to a pool), but I would never go there for the day. It is not that nice of a park and definitely NOT family friendly. I do love Busch Gardens, although I don't think there is a lot there for young kids. It is a very pretty park. I LOVE Water Country, which does have a lot for little kids. They give all the little kids (or big kids if you want) life jackets and then the kids can ride almost any water ride there. It is so family friendly. We try to take a 3 day trip down to Williamsburg every summer and buy the park hopper that gives you access to Water Country, Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg.
