OT - Siesta Key - Looking for accommodation?

We have decided to extend our next Disney vacation by one week at Siesta Key (near Sarasota, FL). I have searched several web sites and have some info. on resorts/motels etc. in Siesta Key.

Question:
Can anyone reccommend a resort/motel in Siesta Key? Requirements: safe, clean, economical, efficiency with a full kitchen, within walking distance to the beach.

So far, my favourite (from viewing web sites) is Aloha Kai but am open to all suggestions. From looking at the web sites for Siesta Key, I have fallen in love with the area.

I read about them on TripAdvisor and they got terrific ratings...the pictures look so pretty! I was thinking of Siesta Key as a side trip---probably won't work for us, but it may for you!

First, let me congratulate you on your choice - Siesta Key is our favorite beach location in Florida. We'll be there in June. Fortunately, there aren't many actual hotels/motels in Siesta Key. Thank goodness. There is a Best Western right in the heart of Siesta Village. It's fine...just your typical Best Western. Plenty clean, but nothing fancy. We've paid as little as $69 - offseason of course. It's right across from the beach - excellent access.

We like to rent at a place called Beach Palms. Go to beachpalms.com. You can rent by the night, but it's cheaper to get a whole week. I think nightly it may be about $175...in the off-season.

Siesta Key is pure paradise. And the sand, ahhhh...it's like powdered sugar. Have fun.

Hey Suzy I'll be in Siesta Key in 20 days!! My parents rent at villa at Horizons West The beach is fantastic the entire length of Siesta Key. My best advice to you is to get something where you don't have to walk across the main drag (Midnight Pass I think) to get to the beach. That road is so busy and I always feel sorry for people who have to try to get across there to get to the beach. However, that might be because I'm only ever there in March when it is really, really busy. I'm sure you'll love it though.
