Holiday Mints

3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons milk
1 15 oz package creamy white frosting mix
red and/or green food coloring
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

Place butter and milk in a 2 quart microwave proof bowl. Cook on high for 45 seconds, or until the butter is melted. Stir in frosting mix. Cook on high for 1 1/2—2 minutes, or until slightly bubbly. Stir twice during cooking. Stir in desired food coloring. Add peppermint extract. Drop mixture by teaspoons onto waxed paper. When cool, store in an airtight container.

And they turn out great,, but I think I did a boo boo, I used a can of frosting and had to add powered sugar to thicken it,, Was I suppose to use like a box mix of powered frosting,, which I've never used , I always go for the can:o Thanks

Yes. Don't feel bad, for I did the same thing the first time I made them. I use 2 7 1/2 oz boxes of the Jiffy white frosting mix.

Sorry! I edited the recipe to read: 1 15 oz box white frosting mix (not the frosting in a can)
