OT: Sea World San Diego Questions

Sorry for posting off-topic but I didn't know where else to go for the information. Has anyone tried the Dolphin Interaction Program at Sea World San Diego or the Dine with Shamu? If so, what were they like? I would like for my kids to experience the DIP but we will only be at SW for one-day and I hate to take that much time out of the day for the experience (the park is only open from 10-6 the day we are visiting.)

We did the Dine with Shamu a couple of years ago when our kids were 9, 7, and 5. We were lucky to get a table poolside. The food is presented buffet-style and was attractive but only average in taste. I found that the kids were too distracted by the whales to eat. It was also cool and breezy by the pool, but then we are wimps from AZ that can't tolerate anything below 75.

A friend took her kids to the Dolphin Interaction Program and it was pretty much a whole day affair. She said it was fun but they didn't get to see much of Sea World that day. They had gone earlier in the week so they didn't miss anything.

I recommend the Behind the Scenes tour. It is very informative, you get to see things that you wouldn't otherwise because, after all, it is behind the scenes. We really enjoyed this tour, saw shark eggs, penguins, a mama dolphin in training with her baby along side. Her name was Sandy and her baby was Diego, very cute. It was about a 4-hour tour, if I remember correctly.
