OT: Romance in Southern Ontario

Thinking of booking a surprise romantic weekend for DH and I. Love the Prince of Wales in N-on-the-L but wondering if I should try something new. Anyone know of any really great, romantic Southern Ontario inns or resorts with nice gourmet dinning? Tub with jets would definitely be a bonus.

There is a gorgous mansion in Kingsville Ontario and I think they might have their own personal spa too. If not there is a spa about a block away that is VERY nice and also a very classy resturant called "The Vintage Goose". I would have to look more into it as for web addresses, or I could call to see if they have any online info for you to look at. Also since Kingsville is next to Leamington and Ruthven and those are famous for Colosantis Tropical gardens and Point Pelee National park which if you go stand on the tip of the point you would be standing on the most southern part of Canada. Also the ferry leaves the dock to go to Pelee Island which is also very nice. It has a vinard and wine testing tours and all that kind of stuff. It's endless what kind of romantic things you could do around here.

There are also a few in Huron County, The Ben Miller InN in Goderich and the Little In of Bayfeild, in Bayfield - Great Restaurant.

The Old Mill Inn in Elora would be nice. Make sure you pick a room in the main inn though. They have packages that include dinner also.

Not exactly in the area but.....we have stayed at the Irwin Inn on Stony Lake and really enjoyed it. Make sure you stay in one of the deluxe rooms in the new building - there is a large hottub on the balcony overlooking the lake - very decadent. We also enjoyed the food there.

The Benmiller Inn, southeast of Goderich is very nice. Gourmet restaurant on site, indoor pool overlooking the Maitland River. A quiet, beautiful, romantic getaway.

Another vote for Langdon Hall (its in Cambridge).
